Charmaine Lee
Bananas set by Charmaine Lee at Pioneer Works. The set was the usually great mix of contact-mic'ed vocalizations and intensely painful feedback. Several people around us were covering their ears or wearing, like us, ear plugs. The family who brought their child to this have to leave. I measured the volume at over 100dBs although it was about to get *much louder*. Suddenly my chest and skin start vibrating from incredibly intense bass reverberated from the sound system. In this midst of this […]#pioneerworks — Public Fediverse posts

Om Live at Pioneer Works
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwnDKcoVHmY

Tonight: been seriously digging the album from Cowboy Sadness, and they're just as compelling live. Maybe their first show or first in NYC, wasn't clear. The album is called Selected Jambient Works which more or less captures it. Pretty stellar zone out vibes at Pioneer Works.

Short stop at home to charge the phone a little and then a late night CitiBike to Red Hook...
One of the cooler livemusic happenings I know of is Ragas Live: 24 hours straight of ragas and the raga-inspired. The middle-of-the-night scene here is wild. Like a sleepover party for drone-loving music nerds.
We'll see how long I last.

December's #MonthlyPlaylist is a bit shorter than usual, (tho no less intense and emo as my other playlists), probably due to seeing William Basinski's incredible #PioneerWorks set. Artists include #AmericanAnalogSet, #BillieEilish, #BrotherTiger, #DonnyMccaslin #HannahBethel, #Heaven17, #Humbird, #LauraMisch, #LouReed, #NeilYoung, #PhantomPosse (#EricLittmann), #REM, #SabrinaCarpenter, #SteveSobs #Tasha, #Vagabon, #WilliamBasinki, #Yohuna #playlist

I'm looking for different gallery spaces, art studios in Queens. I miss Pioneer Works (I used to live close to it), it was so inspiring to see the residencies. I want more hackerspaces in New York. I love C-base in Berlin, Fat Cat Fab Lab in Manhattan, NYC Resistor in Brooklyn. So much potential for collaboration and education. #HackerSpace #PioneerWorks #MakerSpace #CBASE #FatCatFabLab #NYCResistor
