Hey folks - do people still use #Pintrest for discovery? Or can you recommend a better alternative?
I never got back into it in the day. However, now I've got my own house, I'm thinking about an inspiration engine for redecoration etc.
Ideally, something I can pin stuff I find around the web to, as well as search within platform to find interesting ideas.
Is that what Pintrest should be used for? Are there better - preferably #federated - alternatives?

#Pintrest is just one of those weird phenomenons. No one I know actually has an account, but when you need an idea for something, you go and check Pintrest. Whether it is ideas for a wedding dress, tree house, pottery, or cool desk setups. Whatever, Pintrest has it.
Pintrest also dominates #google searches when it comes to images, but I actually saw statistics the other day that Pintrest actually isn't one of the biggest click generators.
