Dog walking, half seven in the morning, this morning, two hours after I woke up, an hour after starting to type, half an hour after a coffee, I wandered past this eerie, dystopian scene.
Usually this ground is full of laughter, chaos, and blurred images as the children dance and run.
Why not today?
Was I just earlier than usual?
Was it deemed "too hot"?
Who knows - but there is a tale to tell about it, that`s for sure....

Today was Pinner Fair, an event which began with a Royal Charter drawn up by King Edward the Second in 1336. and which has been held every year since, even through the two World Wars. It was even held through the time of Covid, but the rides were only shown for display, and unable to be ridden. However it did mean that the fair was held, and therefore the condition of the original charter remained unbroken.
