Pinnacles National Park, which is fairly accessible in terms of proximity to larger population centers, has an annual visitation under 400,000 a year.

Bear Gulch Reservoir, Pinnacles National Park, California
Pinnacles is the western half of an ancient volcano that once straddled the San Andreas fault. There is a system of caves under the mountain, but they were only open in dry years and I can only recall exploring them once. But that was 30 years ago, 20 years before “drought” became part of our new normal. I'm curious what happened to those caves and this tiny reservoir those years, and what it looks like now after our record rainfall.

Two of the 336 California condors left in the wild. Wishing I had lugged a telephoto lens, but they’re very easy to see now at Pinnacles as the population is recovering. #PinnaclesNationalPark #endangeredspecies

Slowly I'm organizing my photos, this one reminds me of fond memories from the #PinnaclesNationalPark in CA. This was mid pandemic early 2021 doing some really easy climbing art Teaching Rock with a friend. I'm excited to get back into #climbing here in #seattle. Also, I'm usually behind the lens so this is a rare photo of me rappelling (yes it was backed up!).

I'm working today to setup a better photography and file backup system and It's allowed me to relive some fun memories! Here's on my my favorite #Climbing #photography from my first multi-pitch sport route in #PinnaclesNationalPark. I took this photo on our rappel, this route is mostly slab and rope management was a learning experience! Now that I'm settling into #Seattle I'm excited to get back into the climbing world.
