Since it's likely the last day with nice weather for this week, I went for an afternoon walk in #Bloeidaal and spotted this blue tit eating from a willow flower and covered in pollen.

Nee, dat is geen lekkere rups, dat is z'n snaveltje.
De snavel van Pim blijft maar doorgroeien. Eten pakken lukt het beste als het bakje vol zit. Met de hoeveelheid die er nu in ligt is het al een uitdaging. Arm ding. 😥

First one, then two colourful blue tits looking for sunflower seeds in a grey cylindrical feeder suspended from a tree branch, with a tiny bit of snow on top. I should refill it.

Dit pimpelmeesje komt vaak bij ons foerageren. Hij heeft een extreem lange snavel, heel puntig en gekromd, alsof de snavel doorgegroeid is. Hebben jullie dit vaker gezien bij pimpelmezen? Waardoor komt het? En heeft het verschijnsel een naam?

Hopelijk krijg ik meesje binnenkort nog beter op de foto, zodat de snavel duidelijk in beeld is.

Overigens kan hij nootjes eten als de beste, gek snaveltje of niet.

Major event today. I was planning to rest and read a bit in the shade in my backyard, but ... blue tits decided to fly out!
Great fun to silently watch 3 of them stick their beak out of the nest, gathering courage and then taking the leap.
On sound 1 already was flown and hiding in the clematis. 2 I saw went for the bamboo, 3 flew a little round and away to the neighbours, 4 jumped down to bamboo. Maybe there's a 5 in the nest still.
Wait and see....
