The #GarminPilotApp (for #Android and #iOS) is just sooooo bad. #Garmin makes really good—and very expensive—avionics, but the app is just a total flop. You don't even get the same app features on iOS and Android.
I really don't know how a company with such high standards can develop an app that's this bad.

Wasn't planned but to my surprise I was asked to conduct a familiarisation flight on the BR23 915 IFR. I guess it's real name is even longer. And so are the checklists which make every A320 look pale...

After the flight over the Alps, recently, it was time for a "mountain light" flight. Had a look over the #Blackforest and a nice visit of the town of #Freiburg before returning back to the lake.

It appears that since recently I'm sitting more often in the right seat. No matter if as PAX or PIC 🤷
And I tried and compared the A/C with the shortest and with the longest wingspan of our fleet.
Roll rate, stability and the relation of speed and lift are interesting 🤩Our BZF Theory Class Session afterwards was also good fun. Just a few students this time but they seemed happy, I can tell.

This is the 2nd time it happened. Got a Diamond upgrade ahead of time for the O'Hare Hilton after booking a runway view. I appreciate the suite upgrade but I really want that runway view, had to call for the "downgrade". Too much of an airplane nerd ;)

Second try to try out our new BR23. Failed again. This time the battery died. No, it not just ran empty. It literally died and almost set the plane on fire. Thanks to five screws with different heads it took us several minutes to remove the hot, fuming and steaming battery to secure the plane.
At least, this time I made till fireing up the avionics. Let's see if I'll get airborne in a third try. God damn it.....

Got a little break in the weather before snow-mageddon shows up later this week so I got to do some #flying in. Flew to KMSN, dealt with a jerk ground controller while also sounding like a total rookie, and then flew back home.
On the bright side, the sunset as I left them behind was absolutely gorgeous. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE being a #pilot ?

Looks like the clouds are going to hang around just long enough tomorrow morning to cancel yet another flight. So I at least got some #FlightSimulator work in tonight. Put all the equipment to use including ForeFlight on the iPads with MSFSBridge and ATC comms with PilotEdge for this little jaunt from KPHX to KTUS.

Backstory : In June 2022 a fleet of pilots in the pacific northwest simulated a large number of disaster mitigation flights to carry food and other essentials to various parts of the state in the event of the "big one" aka Rainier Eruption. This airplane carried 350 lb of potatoes. The best way to carry them all without the smell sticking to the cabin was to wrap each 50lb net in garbage bags.
