  6. First, let me say, welcome to Winston Salem Food Reviews! We’re a new and upcoming blog that will be focusing on doing reviews of all types of food items. Today, we’re going to do a quick review of the new, limited edition, Pillsbury Grand Peach & Cream Cinnamon Rolls that have just recently been released.

To start with, these are the normal cinnamon rolls that Pillsbury sells. They are no different as far as the roll themselves. The cinnamon is rolled up inside the breading just like always. The big difference here is that instead of regular icing that you’d put on them, this comes with an artificially flavored peaches and cream frosting. The frosting is orange and color and happens to be very sweet. There’s no doubt that it’s artificial flavored as you can tell by the first taste. In fact, it’s mentioned that there is no real peaches used for these. Kind of sad, but not really all that surprising.

The Pillsbury Grands cook at 350 degrees for 23 – 27 minutes. Once they are done, it’s recommended that you let them stand for a few minutes before attempting to put the icing on them, or else it will quickly melt and basically go straight into the pan itself.

Once done, they are fluffy and soft and have really good flavor. The icing itself is very sweet as I mentioned above, but it’s got a good peaches and cream flavor. There’s certainly no mistaking that it’s peach flavored.

These are of course best eaten fresh out of the oven, though they can be heated up for 30 – 40 seconds if needed. Just don’t heat them up too long, or again, the frosting will melt and make a mess.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, I’d rate these a solid 8. This is based on preparation time, cook times and flavor.

If you’re looking for something warm and delicious and something that doesn’t take too long to prepare and cook, then these could be for you. Just note once again, that the flavoring is 100% artificial so that might be something that sways your decision.
