CW: Hablo de Pillion, no mucho spoiler, pero igual sí
Más que un retrato del mundo BDSM (sobre el que no tengo criterio para saber si es más o menos acertado, aunque algo superficial sí que me ha parecido), creo que es una historia que, en el fondo, se puede trasladar a muchos otros tipos de relación, especialmente dentro del mundo gay. Eso me ha gustado.
Me parece muy potente la forma en que retrata a personajes un poco rotos y perdidos. Cómo intentan llenar sus carencias afectivas, sus deseos y su necesidad de validación y de amor en lugares que nunca parece terminar de encajar con quienes son, protegiéndose de aquello que realmente quieren, por miedos o heridas de distinto tipo, que al final solo se intuyen.
Quizás me hubiese gustado algo menos efectista y que profundizara más en esos miedos. O más en el mundo del BDSM, que al final solo me parece una excusa, no sé.

He visto "Pillion" y está bastante lejos de ser la película que esperaba.
Me ha resultado bastante incómoda (creo que no se corta en intentar serlo), aunque tampoco eso me parece necesariamente malo.
Necesito reposarla para saber si realmente me ha gustado. Sigo con advertencia de cotenido, que no quiero spoilear :ablobcatpopcorn:

I’m so late to the game but I really wanted to see Pillion in the theater back in Feb / March but just couldn’t make it with all the traveling things. Now it’s on HBO and I just watched the unrated version! Loved every minute of it! I do have a lot of thoughts though.

Saw #Pillion yesterday with my husband. I loved it. He appreciated it with mixed feelings. Normal for us with most movies. I'm far easier to please than he is.
We also both exist completely outside the power-exchange culture, with me being highly wired for peer sexuality, essentially the opposite of Pillion's milieu. My experience of D/s is analogous to my experience of heterosexuality and female sexuality from the perspective of a Kinsey-6 gay guy. I can appreciate what it is, that many are into it, but it does nothing for me at all. I view pretty much all flavors of D/s with personal bemusement. Pillion allowed me to be witness to a narrative that touched on the scene, regardless of its accuracy.
So I can't speak to the authenticity of Pillion’s depiction of D/s culture, but I loved the relational complexity of the story and the characters, the deftness of the actors and the direction. This is a rom-com (dom-com), not a documentary.
I also noticed that most of the audience in our theater were women, which was cool.
The movie delivered what I want when I see a film: It touched me, challenged me, and didn't placate me with easy answers all tied up with a Hollywood bow. It cared about all its characters and that helped me care and left me with new thoughts and perspectives.
So yeah… I loved Pillion, and I don't think my review contains any actual spoilers.

In a bar he ‘meets’ Ray who appears to be secure,cocky and outgoing, and who makes Colin count Rays money to pay for crisps Ray ordered from the bar. This establishes the first interests in Colin and kind of unlocks his submissive side.

It was nice to go to the cinema again, we don’t do this often enough. It was a small room and there were no more than some 10-20 people there. Interestingly enough mostly women.
About the movie.
Did I enjoy the movie? Yes
Did I find it realistic? Yes and No
Were the bikers hot? YesIt was an impressive story also, with a lot to unpack and process

Je capte pas pourquoi les gens décrivent Pillion comme une comédie romantique (voire une dramedie au mieux), alors que c'est une histoire triste et violente (qui fini bien) sur l'isolement causé par l'homophobie et la vulnérabilité à subir des relations toxiques quand on souffre de grave solitude.
Mais c'est des pédés qui font du BDSM alors hohoho c'est cocasse quand-même.
