Anyway, #gaming tonight is me continuing my playthrough of #PillarsOfEternity from way back in 2018.
Currently I am dealing with a cursed sword I picked up in the DLC area. Never pick up swords that are screaming, folks.

Just finished Pillars of Eternity. Recommended!

It's a shame to say, that I've found it really hard to get used to Turn-Based gameplay. With my defeat on Divinity Original Sin still fresh, Turn-Based Pillars schooled me once again. So I had to retreat back to my comfort zone, that is Real-Time with Pause. Much easier... on Normal.

With proper preparation we killed the Cean Gwla first, the rest went quickly. It feels like much micromanagement is how such games should be played...

Which is the reason why I still haven't bought Baldur's Gate 3...

I admire the fact that Obsidian keep updating the original Pillars of Eternity. Now it has Turn Based Mode too. But my three-year-old save is still fighting the Leaden Key. It's just like the original Baldur's Gate, I created so many half-baked characters, but only played through once...

RPGs are all strict and tedious like "choose a class and then if you don't like it, just start over completely and play the same content again that you just played".

Luckily there's mods to fix such boring rules. Change class mid dungeon! You're a ranger now! Continue slaughtering Xaurips! 🏹

I'll get back to it and try to play it again soon - but the hardest thing to accept about Baldur's Gate 3 is that it's called Baldur's Gate 3. If it had any other name, it might be easier to accept that it's not RTWP combat.

Been thinking on this as I replayed Baldur's Gate 1 recently (and currently playing through Pillars of Eternity again).

Last night I completed the game Avowed. It was an amazing experience. A very different game from other action-RPG that I'm used to. Very interesting story full of twists and turns. Had a lot of fun with it!

Found out that Cloud Sync for #PillarsOfEternity is weird. When I was playing on my #SteamDeck (in Desktop mode with keyboard and mouse), I noticed that my original character saves weren't there. Was odd, but I hadn't gotten very far so I re-rolled.

Last night loaded up PoE on my Mac, and my saves from the original character were there, but _not_ from the new character on my Deck.

Turns out cloud save isn't cross-platform?!

A nice and lazy Sunday means that I almost forgot to post the work I did on yesterday's stream. So here y'all go!

Was on a flight today. Tried to play #PillarsOfEternity in the #SteamDeck and the default controls were unplayable. Switched to #BaldursGate3 and started a new drow barbarian. Fun to play but it drags on the Deck.

Got the #deadfire game underway and have completed the tutorial island. The Valians are as greedy as remembered and will have to go bankrupt. Decided that the brought over PC druid got a bit changed and is now a wizard. Aloth the complainer will soon get the boot. Or plank. Eder (fighter+rogue) will tag along so far, Xoti (priest) gets a permanent spot and Serafen the hairy I will try as a barb+cipher.
