PaulaNET, WiFi a través del puerto de disquetera
PaulaNET es un proyecto de Rob Smith que permite conectar un Amiga a una red WiFi utilizando su puerto de disquetera. Para ello emplea una Raspberry Pi Pico W o Pico 2 W, que actúa como puente entre la interfaz de disco del Amiga y la conexión inalámbrica.
El proyecto aprovecha las capacidades DMA de Paula para utilizar el puerto de disquetera como canal de comunicación. Los datos se transmiten mediante operaciones RAW de
trackdisk.device, mientras que el controladorPaulaNET.deviceproporciona una interfaz SANA-II compatible con pilas TCP/IP como Roadshow.La solución alcanza alrededor de 43 KB/s de transferencia y puede funcionar en un Amiga 1200 sin aceleradora, con una carga de CPU reducida gracias al uso de DMA. La Raspberry Pi Pico se encarga del procesamiento de los datos y de la conexión WiFi.
El hardware utiliza transistores 2N7002 para adaptar las señales de 5 V del puerto de disquetera a los GPIO de 3,3 V de la Pico. El repositorio incluye el firmware, el controlador para AmigaOS, las herramientas de configuración y los archivos necesarios para fabricar la placa.
El proyecto continúa en desarrollo y contempla mejoras como actualizaciones de firmware OTA, optimizaciones de la transferencia y una posible integración directa con la pila TCP/IP de la Pico.
El código fuente y los diseños de hardware están disponibles en GitHub bajo licencia GPL-3.0.

One of the challenges with reverse engineering is if you misunderstand how it works. With the MP3Player I didn't realise it sometimes returns two responses instead of one.
Fortunately with more testing this came to light and I've been able to improve my library which works much better now.
I've also tested with a new Raspberry Pi Pico 2W.
