My current solution is to use DNS over HTTPS, which lets all DNS queries traverse a single TCP connection.
Specifically I added a dnscrypt-proxy (https://github.com/dnscrypt/dnscrypt-proxy) sidecar to my #PiHole setup and set the Pi-hole's upstream to same. So far so good.

Can someone tell me why a simple 5 port switch is in the top 5 of devices which communicates to home called Unifi?
Blocked it... no clue why, except for updates but not in this frequency.
Pi-hole makes you even more concerned about privacy. It's eye-opening to see how frequently my network makes calls to servers.

Ik zat eens naar de stats te kijken en toen viel mij op dat onze Ziggo Mediabox wel heel veel moeite doet om info naar logs.Netflix te sturen. Dat heb ik geblokkeerd.
Die mediabox is hardstikke druk met mijn data, of ik nou netflix kijk of niet maakt niets uit. Op fora heb ik threads gevonden van mensen die niet eens een netflix account hebben en toch ditzelfde in hun logfiles zien.
Big Brother is een groot netwerk van Big Brothers...

Gisteren crashte mijn Pi-Hole. Corrupte database. Oplossing eenvoudig: delete database en Pi-Hole maakt zelf een nieuwe aan. EasyPeasy.
Toen hield ik de statistics eens even in de gaten. 89% van de DNS requests wordt geblokt.12700 van de 14263.
En van die 12700 is meer dan 12000 afkomstig van.... (drumroffel)
Mijn Samsung TV!

Ich nutze gerne #kleinanzeigen , über #NetGuard und #pihole um Tracker und Werbung zu reduzieren. Leider lässt die App sich nicht auf meinem Google freien Tablet installieren, da ohne gapps andauernd nervige Meldungen, dass diese fehlen, erscheinen.Ein europäisches Unternehmen, wie die Kleinanzeigen GmbH sollte imo aber genau dieses, eine #GoogleFree App, installierbar über #fdroid, anbieten und haben.

I really like my #wireguard setup.
I'm moving more and more services behind it and don't expose them anymore.In addition I've setup #pihole again and move as much as possible from my #pfsense firewall to my #nixos server.
It just feels better to have things set up declaratively instead of relying on backups.
