Scicomm YouTuber Dianna Cowern, aka Physics Girl, came down with COVID in July 2022 while on honeymoon. By March 2023, she was hospitalised with ME/CFS and spent nearly two years housebound and bedbound. This year, she has slowly begun to recover.

The Niland Geyser has been on the move since 2016 and is the only known moving mud pot in the world. It poses interesting challenges to infrastructure in the area.
