  4. This is the third board wipe in as many years.

    1032 days ago, my exercise regime changed from "finish the number of reps" to "relax every muscle not under exercise" and holy shit has it been a game changer.

    When I stopped caring about the weight or reps and just focused on the relaxation, #physicalfitness become an #exercise in #mindfulness and #relaxation that I actively make time for and look forward to.

  5. I learned to appreciate #BodyweightExercise as part of a drop-in evening adult gymnastics program I enjoyed in the early 1990s at the California Sports Center (then in the gym of the former Blackford High School in Campbell CA).

    The 30-minute warm-up would include:
    * 30 V ups (switching to tuck-ups when V ups got too hard to complete 30)
    * 15 push ups from toes (switching to from knees to complete 15)

    Ideally, I want to work the same muscle group every two days, giving each one day to recover and rebuild.

    I feel like I'm still slowly getting my strength back after having had open-heart surgery 7 years ago. That slowed me down, but the progress I feel now, especially toward pull-ups, makes me want to exercise more.
