Our blob seems to enjoy its petri dish and the oatmeal we're feeding it. Our 10yo is super hyped 😁 Definitely an experiment I'd recommend for kids, though changing the substrate every 3 days is kind of tedious.

The bottom one doesn't look so hot, I think I overdid it with the oats and some local is overcompeting it, looks fuzzy around the edges.
So:
- don't pile more food than it can chew
- use air filters (I'll try parafilm) and sterilize your tools better -

The two original sclerotia didn't activate, so I used 4 samples more with slightly different conditions. 2 of them are doing great, the others not so much.
I didn't properly measure or jot any data down, so this isn't Science, but now I have a general idea of how this works and I can go for precision next time.
