I don't normally like black and white shots. They feel pretentious in my mind. Like who am I to be moody. Other's can do it who have more of an artistic eye. Today I was stumped on what to do with this one. I lined the shot up trying to get the center on the ally. I used a regular lens and put the aperture wide as I could get it for that good depth of field blur. #spiderweb #dew #morningvibes #foggy #depthoffield #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This is a shot I took last year at the zoo. I thought this was a picture I couldn't bring back due to the light and the dark being too much. I was able to bring something back and may try again to clean this up. I was surprised what I could bring back. #photoshopedit #seal #2023photochallenge

Another macro of a morning glory. I think I went too hard on the slider trying to get the saturation you see with your eye. Tripod, low ISO, small aperture for that good depth of field, shutter speed to compensate for the small aperture. I did do some spot healing to get rid of the pollen on the flower petals. #photoshopedit #macro #macroflower #purpleflower #morningglory #2023photochallenge

On my morning walks I see these vining flowers and love em. Eevee doesn't like that I tried to get a clipping so I must enjoy them from a far instead. Used a tripod, tried to get a large depth of field in a sunny day. Low ISO and medium speed. Slider work done to try to recreate the saturation of the flower. #macro #macrophotography #macroflower #blueflower #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This was another one from last week. There were power lines going between the trees and the sun was right between them. I used the healing tool to take it out while doing some slider work to expose the trees right while letting the sky stay hazy. #photoshopedit #trees #sunrise #hazy #sunrise #2023photochallenge

One of my attempts this morning to catch the haze of the Canadian wildfires in Ohio. By the time I got home from the dog walk and got back out with my camera I missed my shot. Will try again tomorrow. Heavy slider work to bring the sun into some sort of unblownout circle. #photoexperiment #photoshopedit #sun #hazyday #canadianwildfire #summer #2023photochallenge

This is a little plant I wanted to get before the earlier buds wilted. The plant gave me one more chance. I used my body to block the sun instead of getting my diffuser. Used some sliders but think I could have done more on the red petals. #flower #redflower #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

Took a little trip a week back and caught a beautiful sunrise going 70 down the highway. Slider work to get the highlights to behave. Did do a spot heal on some glare from the window. #photoshopedit #sunrise #roadtrip #2023photochallenge

This was a shot this year after getting stuck in the mud. I always enjoy the splash of mud on the blue Jeep paint. Next time I hope to get stuck on purpose! I did minimal slider work to make it pop a little more. #Jeep #mud #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

Another orchid from the conservatory display. I think I went a little too hard on the exposure. #photoshopedit #orchid #flower #2023photochallenge

This was an abstract photo I tried. Think next time I would use a photo stack of macro shots. I saved this cause I liked the way the nonglazed layers looked. The other saving grace was the glaze flow you see in the top right. #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

  13. 2023 Photo Challenge 123/365
I took this shot trying to find a unique angle instead of just taking a top down photo of the flowers. I think I got too lost in the slider sauce though. The plant feels like I got a flash on. #photoexperiement #photoshopedit #flowers #2023photochallenge

This was a super underexposed shot I took on a bright summer's day. I was just starting out in manual and forgot to adjust exposure for every different shot. I had been avoiding it almost 11 months now. Using the skills I have been growing was able to bring this back in some form. #photoshopedit #buttons #learningphotography #learningphotoshop #2023photochallenge

This was a shot of my ants, they are Crematogaster if I got my names right. They are thirsty girls and you can see the sizes vary. I didn't have to do much slider work but did to a bunch of clean up as they are a bit messy. Little bits and pieces were everywhere. I also removed the highlights and camera reflection from the drop. #macro #ants #crematogaster #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This was a nice little bunch of flowers on a sunny day. As you can see in the top left I didn't get the diffuser completely on the target. It was a windy day and I was doing both jobs. But I see the value in it if there is someone to help you. #flower #diffuser #photoshopedit #photoexperiment #2023photochallenge

This is another from my night lake visit. I don't remember it being that bright but it is amazing how much light can be brought back from a raw photo. #photoshopedit #dusk #nighttimephotography #2023photochallenge

ONE-DERLAND! This feels like I might make it! This shot is a redo of a previous shot and edit. I used my new skills to try something different. I was able to open it up to catch a blue/purple I didn't see before. Kind of like the previous darker version but this one has merit too. Might try splicing them in another edit after a while. #fakestars #Kodama #princessmononoke #photoexperiment #night #nighttimephotography #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This was a shot for my night time when I was still learning night time. I used these little spirits around a tea light to make it look like a campfire. The sliders kind of mangle it no matter what I do but will try again after my move when I can get all the stuff back out. #fakecampfire #Kodama #princessmononoke #photoexperiment #night #nighttimephotography #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This was another challenging shot I stayed away from. With the bright light I had the flower blown out. I think it still could have been taken better but at least I got the shot to something presentable. #flower #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This is a difference a 6.25 months can make. I took the first photo last year and posted it with, what I thought was, good slider edits. This year I revisited it as I am cleaning out my folder I revisited this. Think the comfort with the sliders are being more evident.

This is a before and after. It is amazing what photoshop sliders can do to bring a photo back to life. That being said I can get why some people think photoshop has killed photography. I think it has made it easier for someone like me to learn. #photoshopedit #sunset #photoexperiment #2023photochallenge

  23. 2023 Photo Challenge 86/365
This was a macro shot and my first attempt at using a reflector. I gave the dark side a nice golden glow. It was a windy day with only me so I had to shine in one arm and set/snap in the other. Was a fun time though. #photoexperiment #photoshopedit #pinecone #macro #macrophotography #2023photochallenge

Lots of slider work here. This was a shot that was underexposed trying to get the moon. In the end I put a different moon in cause the original was fried.

This was another one of my pour paintings. Felt there was enough here that I didn't have to tweak the sliders too much. Just a little exposure bump. There was a clarity/texture bump, as is my tradition.

Never been near a volcano so I have to pretend this pour painting is my lava!

I added to this by shining a light on the back that caused the glow you see in the middle. This was a fun combo of my other creative outlet and this one. Sliders were used to bring a little pop, felt flat in the raw picture. #fakelava #macro #macrophotography #pourpainting #photoexperiment #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

This was one the first of my macro class shots. It was underexposed but the sliders saved me. Tried to offset the rose middle to provide something more than a flower. Flowers make macro easy cause they are beautiful subjects already. #macro #macrophotography #macrophoto #rose #flower #photoshopedit #2023photochallenge

Still trying to decided if the saturated and vibrant look is good or "deep fried." I enjoy it. No matter the way I angled this shot it felt tilted. Was a cool quick snap though. #photoshopedit #truck #loganohio #alley #photo #2023photochallenge

I didn't go low enough in my exposures to get the sky. This was my attempt at an HDR of the canopy. Next time I will spend more time looking at the shot in the preview before leaving. #trees #hdrphotography #photoshopedit #photoexperiment #2023photochallenge

  30. 2023 Photo Challenge 45/365
This is a nice HDR photo from a hill that some people now! I was getting macroshots and watching Picard, the dog. I decided to switch the lenses and get a shot but also practice HDR. I would have thought of the sun better next time. I did some slider magic after the HDR merge. I added a vignette to try to focus on the trees and leafs. #trees #photo #photoshopedit #hdrphotography #2023photochallenge
