Apple wypuściło nowe wersje aplikacji GarageBand, Pixelmator Pro i Photomator, dostosowane do nadchodzących systemów iOS/iPadOS 26 i macOS Tahoe.

Najbardziej widoczna zmiana to nowe ikony aplikacji, zgodne z odświeżonym stylem wizualnym Apple – w przypadku macOS ikony zostały „uwolnione” z charakterystycznych zaokrąglonych kwadratów („squircle”).

Aktualizacje nie wprowadzają nowych funkcji, a jedynie poprawki stabilności i błędów. Dzięki temu aplikacje lepiej wpisują się w wygląd nowego systemu i układ siatki aplikacji.

Aplikacja GarageBand pozostaje darmowa dla użytkowników iPhone’a i iPada, natomiast Pixelmator Pro i Photomator dostępne są dla komputerów Mac. Wkrótce podobnych aktualizacji można spodziewać się dla innych programów Apple, takich jak iMovie, Pages, Keynote czy Numbers.

One bummer about #MacOS now is that you used to be able to be pretty productive with the built in software. Now in order to get real work done, you need to pretty much immediately replace every default app. Safari, Mail, Photos, Pages, etc. Preview is still a rockstar but it’s sort of depressing.

#Mimestream or #Thunderbird is a far better email client. #Photomator is what you want for an easy to use but robust photo editing tool, leaving #Photos in the dust. BetterSnapTool for a better Split View, #IINA for watching videos, #Hazel for file management.

Still great hardware but the utility of the stock apps drops year over year.
