Sun pillars light up evening sky
A rare phenomenon known as #sun pillars was spotted throughout #Shetland yesterday evening (Friday).
These vertical shafts of light can extend above or below the sun and most commonly appear during #sunrise or #sunset – with Kenny Williamson #photographing the pillars in Gonfirth, Eid and Voe.

Dear Friends of Sand Chickens,
As you may now know, I was down on the #Dorset coast, #photographing the wild chicks, marsh flowers and suchlike.
With me were trusty #relatives, my #olde #Canon camera and a blazing #Sun of Cod or possibly Goddess. I was able to wake to the sound of #frogs, ski-gulls and privileged Karen type #living. I drank #wine to whine. Heard of the difficulties of the #Muggle #Class #Nutritionists and other #strange events.
Fortunately I was able to speak fluent :anarchy: and be misunderstood or ignored for better ideals (allegedly).
Obviously I will now moult into a Neo-Lobster 🦞 and repent may wayward habits. Maybe. :dopefish:
For me it was interesting how their house and garden had been rebuilt at great cost. In fact, the house and garden was #building them. And will for some time...
Meanwhile I will be:
- wearing and wering a new set of hats (red, black, grey and rain bowed)
- #developing a new world saving #unplanned
- Thinking not outside the box but as a box emptied

Hi there! I am a #palaeoecologist and #naturalist. I work with #microfossils to understand ancient and modern environments/climate and human modification to these environments (#ClimateChange #ClimateJustice). I am also interested in #wildlife, and spend a lot of time recording and #photographing #LondonWildlife - #plants, #invertebrates #mammals #fungi etc. I’d love to meet like-minded people :)

I’m a studio #jeweller handcrafting pieces from my #Leicestershire studio. #Nature, in particular #lichens, inspire my work, so I’m often out #walking & #photographing for further research, with studio dog by my side! When I’m not in the studio, I’m #gardening (I love #dahlias & have an ever growing collection), #rowing & occasionally #outdoorswimmming!
