🇫🇷 La Semois depuis le pont de Martué. Dans le fond, sur les hauteurs, on peut voir l'église de Florenville. Fait curieux, là où sont les prairies à droite, il y avait un château dans le passé. Un rare exemple de château fort dans une vallée plutôt que sur les hauteurs.

🇫🇷 Une journée super, loin du tumulte du monde et j'ai voulu en profiter un maximum, même si le dernier kilomètre a été ardu! 25 kilomètres autour de Florenville dans une nature magnifique, un beau soleil printanier, pas mal d'oiseaux (vus, entendus mais à peine réussi à en photographier deux...). Pour ce soir, juste une photo du panorama depuis le belvédère derrière l'église de Florenville. J'ai des photos pour un moment : 130 en tout que je distillerai sur différents hashtags dans les prochains jours/semaines.

Passez une excellente soirée, pour moi, pas d'inquiétude, je vais dormir comme un nouveau-né! 👋 🙂

🇬🇧 A great day, far from the hustle and bustle of the world and I wanted to make the most of it, even if the last kilometer was difficult! 25 kilometers around Florenville in magnificent nature, beautiful spring sunshine, quite a lot birds (seen, heard but barely managed to photograph two...). For this evening, just a photo of the panorama from the belvedere behind the church in Florenville. I have photos for a while to post: 130 in total that I will distill on different hashtags in the next days/weeks.

🇫🇷 Grand Tour de l'Ouest de la France - Jour 5 - 03 mars 2016

De Saint-Malo à Yffiniac en passant par St-Lunaire - Fort-La Latte et le Cap Fréhel

C'est sous une météo mitigée que la visite de Saint-Malo débuta avec le musée maritime et ensuite les remparts (photo 1). Après un bon repas de midi, nous nous enfonçons de plus en plus dans la Bretagne et toujours en suivant le plus possible la côte, nous passons par Saint-Lunaire pour atteindre la pointe du décollé (Photo 2). Les vues sont grandioses et la météo capricieuse est vite oubliée devant la beauté sauvage des lieux visités.

Poursuivant notre route, nous atteignons notre prochaine étape et visite : le Fort La Latte (photo 3) et non loin de là, pour terminer la journée, le cap Fréhel et son phare, car oui, j'aime aussi les phares! 🙂 Là, le vent et la pluie sont plus fort mais qu'importe...

Après cette journée bien remplie, ce sera à Yffiniac que nous passerons la nuit avant de poursuivre le lendemain jusqu'au point le plus à l'ouest pour ce tour : Ploumanac'h.

🇬🇧 From Saint-Malo to Yffiniac via St-Lunaire - Fort-La Latte and Cap Fréhel

A mixed weather to visit Saint-Malo, we started with the maritime museum and thereafter we made the tour of the remparts (photo 1). After a good lunch, our way is going deeper and deeper into Brittany following as much as possible the coast. First stop "La pointe du Décollé" near St-Lunaire (Photo 2). The views are grandiose and the capricious weather is quickly forgotten in front of the wild beauty of the places visited.

Continuing our route, we reach our next stop and visit: Fort La Latte (photo 3) and not far from there, to end the day, the Cap Fréhel and its lighthouse, because yes, I also like lighthouses! 🙂 There, the wind and rain are stronger but that doesn't matter...

We did overnight in Yffiniac before going the next day to the westernmost point for this tour: Ploumanac'h.

Maria Laach (1/3)

🇫🇷 Ce fut une belle journée sur le site de Maria Laach (DE). Le grand lac, calme en apparence est en fait un cratère de volcan à peine endormi! L'imposante église abbatiale sous le soleil et juste avant de repartir sous un ciel menaçant donnant une note presqu'irréelle au lieu. Il n'y a pas trop de monde en cette saison et cela renforce la sérénité des lieux.

🇬🇧 It was a very nice day out in Maria Laach (DE). The large lake, apparently calm, is in fact a barely dormant volcano crater! The imposing abbey church under the sun and just before leaving under a threatening sky giving an almost unreal note to the place. There are not too many people in this time of year and this reinforces the serenity of the place.

🇫🇷 Encore quelques vues de la randonnée d'hier. Le point d'orgue était sans conteste le point de vue du Kasselslay (Kasselslee) qui offre une vue sur la vallée de l'Our. Au sommet de cet éperon rocheux (par lequel je suis arrivé, il y a un banc et derrière ce banc, à peine visible une petite chapelle mariale dédiée à La Vierge du Rocher. Cette partie était assez "scherp" car le sentier très étroit et avec la neige... Une fois dans la vallée, le sentier longe l'Our de près ou d'un peu plus loin. Depuis l'arrêt de Bus à Dasbourg-Pont, on peut apercevoir le château de Dasburg. J'avais visité le village, il y a longtemps déjà...

L'Our est une rivière belgo-germano-luxembourgeoise de 78 kilomètres qui prend sa source dans les Hautes Fagnes et forme grosso-modo la frontière entre la Belgique et l'Allemagne jusqu'à Ouren (point de rencontre des trois pays) où elle devient la frontière entre le Grand-Duché et l'Allemagne quasi sur toute sa longueur jusqu'à Wallendorf où elle se jette dans la Sûre qui elle-même formera la frontière entre les deux pays et terminera sa course dans la Moselle à Wasserbillig (Waasserbëlleg). C'est une région que j'apprécie particulièrement car très calme et isolée et dotée d'un large réseau de balades pédestres.

At the top there is a bench and behind it, a small Marial Chapel dedicated to Our Lady of the Rock. The path to the valley was the most difficult to hike as the way is very narrow and with the snow, the risk of slipping is great. Once in the valley, the path goes along the river. In Dasbourg-Pont, while waiting for the Bus, I could make a photo of the Castle of Dasburg on the German side. I visited a long time ago the small village...

A word over the river "Our", it's a Belgian-German-Luxembourgish one with a length of 78 km. It mainly forms the border between Belgium and Germany until Ouren (3 Countries point) and then the border between Germany and G.D. of Luxembourg until it joins the Sauer in Wallendorf and beyond to Wasserbillig (Waasserbëlleg). I do like the region as it is very calm and a bit isolated and with lots of great hiking paths!
