Long-term exposure to ambient air pollutants and female infertility risk: a population-based cohort study in Taiwan. [2025]
https://doi.org/10.1186/s12889-025-24213-xThis article reports that most air pollution components (SO2, PM2.5, NOX, etc.) are linked to higher infertility in women, however, a negative association was found with ozone [O3] exposure . I wonder if that is because O3 tends to form in sunlight and O3 exposure might correlate with sun exposure?

Near Infrared Light Reduces Inflammation via TLR4 In Vitro [2022]
https://youtu.be/e6xj14QYsocvideo discusses this article:
Infrared light therapy relieves TLR-4 dependent hyper-inflammation of the type induced by COVID-19
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8451450/"The inflammatory response was induced in cell cultures by LPS, followed by exposure to 720 nm LED light source at an intensity of 6 W/m2 for 10 min at 12-h intervals (see methods). ... At the end of the 48-h treatment period, cells were harvested and gene expression analysis performed. The results showed an approximately 50% reduction in gene expression of all of these markers in response to LED infrared exposure (Figure 4). ..."

I had recently posted that I wished there were more epidemiological studies that tracked light exposure / time outdoors:

How does being outdoors prevent the development of Myopia? (11 June 2024)
https://youtu.be/FHXs_7Lv_Gc?si=q7caV1Sf7yQlpw37
- afternoon time outdoors more important than morning
- light intensity
- spectral quality (red)
- dopamine, local effect on eye
- atropine & dopamine do not affect normal eye growth; only have effects once myopic changes are initiated~
Why aren't there more epidemiological studies that consider the effect time spent outdoors on health?

I have questions about dosing, as I have seen reports on LLLT showing a biphasic dose response, e.g., - https://doi.org/10.2203/dose-response.11-009.Hamblin~
The increase in body temperature seems to support the idea that the decline in human body temperature reported by Prostiv et al. might have something to do with decreased time outdoors -
https://doi.org/10.7554/eLife.49555How much of the increase in temperature is due to increased Na/K ATPase activity?

If the effects of localized exposure to red & NIR light are systemic [40:16], what about other wavelengths? The photoplethysmography sensors in fitness trackers emit strong red or green light (sometimes yellow) - are there any systemic effects from wearing these devices? -
Green light therapy for chronic pain

video description: "Daily green light treatment may reduce fibromyalgia pain by 50%. I'll cover that research and let you know what I think about the approach. The published report is at the link below. - Jarred Younger"

I hope he does a follow-up video on the animal studies since I do wonder about the placebo effect and also the details of the mechanism.

Impressive lecture about light, near infrared (NIR) to be precise. The need to get outside, to get NIR (so it can penetrate the skin) and its health benefits for all animals, including humans. About the shortage that many are experiencing nowadays, since the use of white LED lights. And the disadvantages of blue light.
Some interesting studies are discussed.
Do turn on the subtitles.

Tried the red light panel last night on my legs. Also gave Jessica 🐱 a few minutes of exposure. Let's see if this #RedLightTherapy works on my scar and Jessica's bald spot XD #photobiomodulation
