Another look at the industrial side of #solarpunk - a small scale appliance fabrication place. The folks here download open source designs and create things people need using standardized parts and stock materials. Their customers are library networks and individuals who want/need something custom.
I wrote more about how items might be designed in a solarpunk society and library economy here: https://wiki.slrpnk.net/writing:repairability_in_solarpunk

It's been awhile but I've finished another solarpunk photobash! This one of traffic on a river, and with more emphasis on electric vessels than my previous nautical scenes.
It contains an electric cargo barge, a house-shifting barge, a cargo sailboat, and a river cleanup craft. If you're interested in details, I've written up a post about the scene here: https://jacobcoffinwrites.wordpress.com/2026/06/15/solarpunk-river-traffic/

The other @FullyAutomatedRPG devs are working on a new set of chase mechanics. We've been jokingly calling the create-an-obstacle-behind-yourself move "Summon Fruit Stand" and every time we say it I picture a walking robot fruit stand plodding slowly into the way, blocking the route. I don't need much excuse to make solarpunk art so I photobashed this scene.

Result from today has not been that bad I guess. I did a photobash of a picnic scene with my friends and made a rough sketch of that. I need to refine the sketch a bit more, but at least the scene is somewhat set. After that I don't know. Just make it look good somehow. 😅 Don't know if I can do it, but at least I will try.

I'm very excited to announce that one of my Postcards from a Solarpunk Future has been published in Reckoning Press!
Reading short stories in Reckoning was I think the main thing that got me to give solarpunk another look, and helped me realize how punk the genre could be. (Though they would say they're focused on Environmental Justice). I'm so very pleased they accepted one of my scenes!

Solarpunk Cargo Ship in a Storm - a steel-hulled, four-masted barque with an open-source variant of dynarig sails tries to escape a storm. Perhaps this postcard celebrates a famous ship that survived a hurricane, in the moments when the storm blew it dangerously close to an offshore wind farm.

A #solarpunk photobash, this time a scene from a #LibraryEconomy.
I’ve mentioned elsewhere that I set these postcards a bit earlier in the solarpunk timeline than a lot of other works I know of in the genre. I like seeing the work in progress, the intermediate steps. So I think this photobash is set somewhere in the transition towards a library economy

Another Winter #Solarpunk Postcard - A #Woodgas Conversion Plow Truck Filling a Village Snow Vault
In the summer, the snow and ice can be used by centralized heat exchange systems to cool nearby apartment buildings, or to protect animals in nearby barns during deadly heat events. The snowmelt could provide water in a drought.
