Hi Mastodon,

I'm a PhD candidate in #philosophy at the #UniversityOfHelsinki , focusing on #metaphysics, #ontology, #processphilosophy and philosophy of #biology. I also study #theology , in which I'm most interested in philosophy of religion, #processtheology , the relationship between science and religion, and the role of #religion in matters of conflict and #peace.

I'm looking forward to share things & have conversations about #research in my fields, but also about

If you are used to the complaint that #philbio is overly obsessed with evolution as opposed to other areas of biology, take a look at the #ishpssb2025. We have clearly moved beyond evolution. Just so y’all remember though: nothing makes sense except in the light of evolution.

perhaps one good reason for why to pay attention to such and related recent discussion in #philbio were, that here we find most palpable examples and discussion of #emergence phenomena, at least more basic - I guess - than could be found in respective humanities studies.

wrt #process but we had to distinguish a - say - micro/biochemical concept of 'process' [not first view emergence related] from the more 'directly observable' unfolding of processes in sensation.

and its today, that a work confined to another old/new -imop anyway interesting -
