- #books (I read #nonfiction #scifi and #specfic the most)
- #antimilitarism , #nuclearban , #nucleardisarmament
- #pedagogy (since I occasionally work in #education )
- #games: #videogames, #boardgames & #tcg
- #movies
- #birdsLet me know if you are tooting (:D) about any of these things!

Ok, here's a fun one for you to discuss (from @kevinlala.bsky.social et al. magisterial book): "Parent-offspring similarity may be just a side-effect of a process whose ultimate function is not stable transmission but accurate prediction." #philbio #genetics #evolution #evodevo

If you are used to the complaint that #philbio is overly obsessed with evolution as opposed to other areas of biology, take a look at the #ishpssb2025. We have clearly moved beyond evolution. Just so y’all remember though: nothing makes sense except in the light of evolution.

imop, from a more general #ontology p.o.v. :
perhaps one good reason for why to pay attention to such and related recent discussion in #philbio were, that here we find most palpable examples and discussion of #emergence phenomena, at least more basic - I guess - than could be found in respective humanities studies.
wrt #process but we had to distinguish a - say - micro/biochemical concept of 'process' [not first view emergence related] from the more 'directly observable' unfolding of processes in sensation.
