Happy birthday to our sweet pup, Tia, who turned 7 on January 6!
I know this photo is slightly blurry, but it's one of my favorites because of the expression on Tia's face. She was SO happy I gave her this brand new faux fur blanket (which I had actually bought for myself because it was so soft and it was the same pretty color as her).
Tia LOVES her blankies - she has quite a few and just got another one for Christmas.

This is Tia; she is a Pharaoh Hound. Tia was a timid, traumatized rescue pup when we adopted her in 2019, but over the course of a year she blossomed into a delightfully strange, hilarious, assertive being. It's like she fell to Earth and decided to take over. Our love for her is immeasurable.
Pharaoh Hounds are one of the world's oldest recorded dog breeds - they are depicted in ancient Egyptian art as far back as 4400 B.C. They are also the national dog of Malta, where they are used for hunting. Pharaoh Hounds have a rare trait in that they blush - their huge ears and nose turn bright pink when they are excited.
There is a little boy in our neighborhood who thinks Tia is a kangaroo; other people think she looks like a deer.
