Starting a thread on my recent visit to #PetrifiedForest #NationalPark.

For starters it was very windy as you can see in this photo.

This is a "drive thru" park with one long road going north-south. I entered the less used southern entrance, visited a nice little museum, and started my tour with the #CrystalForest trail.

Le bois pétrifié est une vraie merveille de la Nature ! #PetrifiedForest National Park a une des plus grandes concentrations au monde de cette empreinte minérale de géants d'un autre temps. Le bois devenu pierre prend toutes les couleurs et peut devenir quartz pur. Le plus incroyable est de se dire qu'il était déjà pétrifié quand les T-Rex arpentaient cette Terre !

My kids were so excited to see these petroglyphs in Petrified Forest National Park, and even more excited for the ones they discovered in Saguaro that had no interpretive signs. It’s neat seeing them be excited to learn something about the native cultures that were here before us. #nationalpark #petrifiedforest #saguaro
