So, Sherbert is a 17 year old sun conure parrot 🦜 who became my roomie almost 7 years ago. She was originally adopted by a family as a birthday gift for their 10 year old kid.
Interest in Sherbert waned pretty quick and she was ultimately dismissed to live in a laundry room with no socialization and no opportunity to fly. At least she had a window to look out of. 😭
Eventually, mom and dad split and mom got stuck with all the animals as the kids were adults living on their own. My sister knew mom and found out about Sherb, mentioned her to me and the happy dance took over. I've always wanted a sun conure! It took 1 day to organize and I adopted her on New Year's Day, 2019.
Nutritionally, she was somewhat taken care of and is now stuck in her ways and refuses to try anything new. 🙄 I think she could fly if she really wanted to, but she doesn't. Her wings were continually clipped previously. 🥺
She's a very happy bird now! 😊 I do not get left alone. EVER. Unless she's sitting on eggs, like now. (she has 2) It's a unique relationship that I wouldn't trade for anything 💜 :purple_heart_sparkle: 💜

Dr's office never called 😡 But, my right hand started feeling a bit better this afternoon. Still using my left hand, but I'll take the relief! I'll be at the Dr's office at 9 am sharp. 😒
My IRL bestie's birthday is tomorrow and I can't wait to give her her gifts! Got everything she asked for! 😃 🥰 🎂

Looks like central NC is in for the wild weather starting tonight and into Monday. High winds, hail and tornadoes possible. My town is directly in the crosshairs of high probability. Should be fun 🙄
After wondering for a few days, Sherbert did indeed lay an egg and has another one ready to descend. I thought we'd get more of a break between clutches. I didn't get to organize her cage beforehand so that's the plan today. Wish me luck! 🤞 🦜 🪺

Not quite sure how it happened, but I assure you it was an accident. Sherbert was on my shoulder while I put finishing touches on the new cage and I guess I got too close ... she hopped right off and started checking things out! Gave her an apple (her favorite) to celebrate!

Today's t-shirt! This is probably the fourth shirt like this. Before I knew better, Sherbert would sit on my left shoulder and put holes in the shirt, rendering it uncool to wear outside.
Now I buy inside shirts from thrift stores and keep outside shirts safe 😀

Bonus: 6 days till I can remove Sherb's eggs and life can return to normal. Her cage is a shitshow. 🦜 🪺

No weather anomalies here until tomorrow afternoon. Then just cold and a wintry mix. Quarter inch of ice possible. Same on Sunday but a half inch of ice possible.

PT has added core exercises to my schedule. I have a few physical issues that will hopefully be corrected/helped with them. 🤞
Found a step converter and I'm averaging almost 4 miles each time I use the cross trainer. This made me very happy! 😀

I've been in my house for 11 years and cleaned the windows (inside) for the first time today. Wow! (Honestly, when's the last time you cleaned your windows?) 😏
Figured out why Sherbert has been so moody this last week ... she is almost ready to lay another egg. She didn't start showing till two days ago, so I missed it. 🦜 🪺
Got my new lavender door wreath today! Yes, of course I have purple faerie lights to add to it. Silly. 😉 🧚♀️

💜 Went to a pickle tasting this past week. I'm now the proud owner of 3 jars of sweet garlic pickles! Local company out of Bear Creek, NC. OMG so good! 🥒
💜 Cleaned Sherb's cage and only got bit once. HARD. Fierce momma. 🪺 🦜

💜 The big news is that when I came home yesterday, Sherbert surprised me with a SECOND egg! I had a feeling it would happen ... poor thing must be exhausted! 🦜 🥚 🥱
💜 After waiting 2 months, Medicare got their shit together and approved the covid booster. No adverse reaction from it. Glad to have that done. 💉 🩹
💜 Echocardiogram procedure went fine. I should get results early next week.
