Here’s another one for the #oldPeopleOfMastodon. It’s a clip of #PeteTownsend doing the #ColbertQuestionnaire on the #LateShow. Commenters were calling it the best CQ of all. Dunno about that—I don’t watch it regularly—but I thought it was good. There’s one bit where Stephen pulls a nono on Pete. He’s an old man, don’t be putting him on the spot to remember a lyric to a song of his you’ve just recited. He couldn’t come up with it. Stephen cued him. Just don’t do that.

#PeteTownsend is the greatest rock songwriter of all time. I came to this conclusion after listening to 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮 (#267 on this 2012 #RollingStone "Best Albums" list).

𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘢 was crafted by Townsend, and #TheWho, in 1972, as a follow up to the highly successful 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘺. It tells the story of a disillusioned counter-culture hooligan user named Jimmy. He becomes discouraged when he sees his gang leader working a menial job as a bellboy, and contemplates his own life choices. #music (cont)
