The people of #Volkswagen in #ChattanoogaTN voted overwhelmingly to #unionize with the #UAW . #PetersburgMutualAid would like to wish a #heartfelt #congratulations to the #autoworkers and the #community at large.
May this begin a wave of #unionization and autonomous community organization in the south! Perhaps even #PetersburgVA will catch the wave! 🙏🏾
There was a #townhall in #PetersburgVirginia today over the development of a casino. Here are some #thoughts from #PetersburgMutualAid .
It was #standingroomonly at the @petersburgpublibrary as the city came together to hear about the 'glorious' promises of #casino developers wishing to build in #PetersburgVA . Who could resist such a magnanimous deal?
#PetersburgMutualAid can, and here's why:
The 50 Years of #HipHop event was #AMAZING #yesterday ! Here's hoping that next #Saturday Battle for the Burg #openmic can pull the same weight...
Co-Hosted by the tremendous trio -- #PetersburgMutualAid , the Virginia chapter of the #SierraClub , and the incredible Youth #PoetLaureate of #RichmondVA , Amina Adeyola -- we have no doubt that the show will be powerful!

It was a matter of time before the status-quo maintaining forces of the city directly affected this organization.
#PetersburgMutualAid has just been kicked out of the local River Street Farmer's Market where it has tabled a booth for 8 months, unbothered. For some reason, management of the market was "under the impression" that we were a nonprofit (we are not, never claimed to be, and don't even believe in the values of nonprofits) and that we "collect money", which is meaningless.

Saturday, November 4th, 3pm at @resist_bks . #SavetheDate !

Tim Cywinski, organizer for the @VASierraClub , came to talk to us about the #toxic #pipeline that #TCEnergy and #ColumbiaGas intend to expand in the city of #PetersburgVA . The #SierraClub , this city's #NAACP , #PetersburgMutualAid , and other local organizations are about to begin a #grassroots campaign to fight against these #corporateinterests . More info to come!
Join us in this fight and tell a friend!
#PetersburgMutualAid will be supporting our young sister, Amina Adeyola, the Youth #PoetLaureate of #RVA by attending to her upcoming #openmic and even doing a little pre-game warm up. Come on out #Richmond (and our surrounding areas)!
From one person pestering pedestrians and drivers-by with flyers in the summer heat to a solid crew of five with various networks throughout the city, Petersburg Mutual Aid's has been on the grind for one whole year and will continue to strive ever higher in the days and years to come!
#PetersburgMutualAid is proud to #introduce to the world our sister organization, #PetersburgIndependentFilmmakers !
Their mission is to make a movie that explores the values, fears, and aspiration of the city that they call home. And, to accomplish this mission, they need you! As a community-focused group, they will need participants as well as funding from those who are able.

Hello All! This account is the representative of Petersburg Mutual Aid, an up and coming community organization in the city of Petersburg, Virginia. We want to connect with people who are knowledgeable or similarly interested in unionism, building community, activism, and autonomy.
