“El fascismo de Silicon Valley”
El periodista #GilDurán, que cubrió la industria tecnológica californiana para varios medios, intentó retratar la influencia de Thiel en el libro ‘El Nerd Reich: el fascismo de Silicon Valley’, en el que muestra el ascenso del hoy vicepresidente J.D. Vance de la mano del tecnomagnate.
"Vance es casi enteramente una creación de Thiel, quien financió su breve etapa como capitalista de riesgo en Silicon Valley y senador de Estados Unidos. Con Vance al lado de Trump, (tenía) un capitalista de riesgo tecnológico a un latido de la presidencia”, contó Durán al portal ‘Democracy Now’.
Thiel se hizo famoso entre los círculos libertarios por una frase escrita en 2009 en un ensayo para el Instituto CATO: “Ya no creo que la libertad y la democracia sean compatibles”.
Cosmovisión apocalíptica solo para millonarios
Peter Thiel también es señalado por iniciativas mucho menos convencionales que la inversión petrolera y las herramientas de vigilancia.
El empresario ha ofrecido este año una serie de conferencias confidenciales en San Francisco, en las que enmarcó cuestiones de política y tecnología en términos bíblicos.
En estas reuniones secretas, conocidas como “diálogos”, se ha documentado la asistencia de directores ejecutivos de grandes empresas, multimillonarios y líderes políticos, como el comandante supremo de la OTAN, Alexus Grynkewich, y Jared Kushner, yerno del presidente Donald Trump.

Axel Springer, eigenaar van een uitgebreid (vooral Duits) mediarijk, kent zijn jaarlijkse Springerprijs toe aan de VS-oligarch Peter Thiel, medestichter van Palantir.
Springer looft de maatschappelijke impact van de extreemrechtse Thiel wiens onderneming een systeem uitbouwt om de samenleving grondig in de gaten te houden. Thiel is zowat de peetvader van vice-president JD Vance.

Peter Thiel bekommt am 24. September den Axel-Springer-Award. Drei Tage vorher schaut der Chaos Computer Club Berlin genauer hin, wer da eigentlich geehrt wird.
Thiel ist kein bloß exzentrischer Tech-Milliardär. Er ist ein antidemokratischer Vordenker der radikalen Rechten: Er erklärte Freiheit und Demokratie für unvereinbar, machte die Ausweitung des Wahlrechts auf Frauen für das Scheitern „kapitalistischer Demokratie“ mitverantwortlich, fördert neoreaktionäre Akteure wie Curtis Yarvin und steckt Millionen in autoritäre rechte Netzwerke.
Mit #Palantir hat er zudem einen Überwachungskonzern aufgebaut, dessen Software auch für Polizeibehörden interessant ist. Das neue Berliner Polizeigesetz schließt Palantir nicht aus.

Hackear a Peter Thiel
Peter Thiel sorprendió cuando este año decidió instalarse en Argentina, pero el más poderoso de los tecnomagnates ronda nuestro país hace más de diez años. #Anfibia, en alianza con #RSF, reconstruye su rastro. El intento de quedarse con los datos de la causa Amia. El adelantado de las ciudades futuristas privadas que vino a tantear el terreno. Los argentinos becados por su fundación. Los abogados, políticos y empresarios que prepararon su llegada. ¿Vino a hacer dinero? ¿Vino por la tierra? ¿O busca algo más?
El Instituto Nacional de la Propiedad Intelectual (INPI) reveló que Thiel había puesto un ojo en Argentina durante el gobierno de Alberto Fernández, en 2022, cuando inscribió su marca.
Los registros de la Casa Rosada revelaron que el cofundador de Próspera, la ciudad privada de Honduras financiada por #Thiel, se reunió con funcionarios del gobierno de #Milei antes que el propio empresario tecnológico.
Y un archivo periodístico arrojó un dato inquietante: Thiel intentó entrar a la Argentina por primera vez hace diez años, cuando estuvo a punto de quedarse con los archivos secretos de la AMIA. Hoy, esa información sobre la que fue posible volver y profundizar, adquiere un nuevo significado.
La que sigue es la historia jamás contada sobre los meses que Thiel pasó entre nosotros.

No me había percatado de que Tyler Cowen de Marginal Revolution fuese un adulador baboso de Peter Thiel. Cowen pasa a formar parte de la ya larga lista de intelectuales que alardeaban tanto de racionalidad y pensamiento crítico pero que terminaron por ahogarse en sus propios sesgos ideológicos.
