Had a sight test yesterday - same optician I've used for c20 years. "Can we have your NHSNo?" Yes, why? "NHS wants to make sure we use it on any referrals." (This was policy 20 years ago, are they only now catching up?) "Have you got anything to prove you're over 60? Driving Licence?" I just gave you my NHS number. "For your free sight test" No, my parent has glaucoma put me down under that.
Next time they ask for my date of birth I'll start making stuff up.
