Me and Chester went on an adventure today. Very popular with the waitresses. His second outing to an outdoor restaurant and he did great. He even got a cup of lettuce just for him (had to pin it in the cage so he could eat it).
He ate. He rang his bell. He sang and preened. They said please bring him back again. :)

he went ahead & posed in this one from a previous year but it's pretty "customized" (chewed up!!!)

my first beta test of Affinity Photo 2.6 object selection
Boobear the 28-year-old cockatiel is helping me by posing on a white/messy background, i think that's a tough enough test
snap the photo, select the bird, select the not bird, apply gaussian blur & desaturate to the not bird channel
had to do a little tinkering because object selection missed part of the crest but it's... semi-OK?

Throwback to 12 years ago in 2012 when this little lovebird was discovered lost in Biloxi Bay after Hurricane Isaac. Here, new to our home she is perching in a front window to check out the scene. Her tameness made it obvious she was someone's special pet-- not all lovebirds are tame-- but we advertised in 3 states & had no luck finding her first owner. She's had a home here with us to this day...

It's that time of year... As I try to round up boxes that haven't already been chomped by Cookie the almost-50-year-old Amazon parrot, I keep finding nice stuff I should sell to make room. Where do people sell stuff now? I got out of the hobby several years ago when I gave up on EBay.
I used to sell a few odd items on Instagram (mostly crystals) but no one sees my posts there anymore so that's a waste of time...
