Ver a mi vecinita jugar Captain America: Super Soldier me hizo caer en un agujero de conejo histórico bastante perturbador. 🕳️💀
Mientras ella lanza el escudo, yo no puedo dejar de pensar en el "suero de súper soldado" real: el Pervitin. A diferencia de la versión heroica de Steve Rogers, en la vida real se usaron anfetaminas de guerra para crear soldados que no dormían por 48 horas y caminaban distancias inhumanas. Muy alejado del brillo de los cómics, ¿verdad?
El costo de la resistencia sobrehumana fue la psicosis y el deterioro total del sistema nervioso.
Es una locura pensar que se buscaban súper soldados a costa de paranoias, daños renales y estragos permanentes gracias a una aplicación con poca o nula ética a las tropas militares.
El juego se vuelve mucho más denso cuando conoces la historia real detrás de esos experimentos. ¡Menos mal que en la consola no hay efectos secundarios tan feos! 🧪💊

¿Sabían que el mito del "suero del súper soldado" de la Segunda Guerra Mundial tiene una base histórica mucho más oscura y química de lo que muestran los cómics? En la realidad, el ejército alemán utilizó masivamente una metanfetamina llamada Pervitin.
A diferencia de una "fórmula mágica" del Capitán América, el Pervitin era un estimulante sintético basado en meta anfetamina, que permitía a los soldados alemanes de la Wehrmacht marchar durante días sin dormir y combatir sin sentir fatiga o hambre, así como fuerza extrema y estado de alerta permanente, así como cierta "inmunidad al dolor".
Durante la invasión de Francia en 1940, se distribuyeron millones de tabletas para mantener el ritmo frenético de la Blitzkrieg o "guerra relámpago".Sin embargo, este "rendimiento sobrehumano" tenía un costo devastador. El uso prolongado provocaba psicosis, agotamiento extremo, agresividad incontrolable, daño a riñones y una fuerte adicción. Los soldados pasaban de la euforia del combate a colapsos físicos y mentales totales, demostrando que detrás de la propaganda del soldado invencible no había evolución biológica, sino una peligrosa dependencia química que terminó minando la salud de las tropas.
