So as part of a personal #project to make A Thing, I needed to make a component Sub-Thing. And I couldn't think of a good way to do it. Part of it involved 3D-printing, but there was something else needed, and I wasn't sure what I could use to do that part of it.
And after a few days, my brain (which works by batch jobs, for weird research requests like this) said "Hey, remember that episode of How It's Made that showed a jeweller doing enamelling? Something like that might work."
So I just did it for the first time, and damn if it doesn't work. It turned out about 90% success, with a few minor blemishes here and there, and I'm certain I can do better on my next try.
How It's Made is a Canadian national treasure.

So for a long time I have been thinking of starting an #erp project. They are all kind of terrible and since I missed the chance of getting a cool tech job I could use something to rebuild some skills and show case. Pretty much all erps are terrible in their own way so there is room.
I like the idea of doing it in #rust, but feel somewhat deterred and the ecosystem being so much newer. I will search up creates that are used quite a lot, but the fact they are still said to be under version one feels odd.
Seems that #dotnet and #java are also having a bit of a silent renaissance. I am feeling my opinion on c#/dotnet to be changing as I look into it and am leaning into picking it for my study and project.

Me, doing a project I'll call TUTORIAL COMPLETE. The goal is to try everything, but just once. Not to master it, not to monetize it (though covering the cost of the next attempt wouldn’t hurt), just to learn the basics and move on. I ran a character creation test with 2 people last night and both made characters they liked in under 20mins. That's a pretty good sign.
Today I made a few adjustments to how I was presenting the rules based on their feedback, and I made a page on statuses.
Next, I have some more ritual ideas and a variety of combat stuff to finish writing.
