PEX5 transports new proteins from cytosol to #peroxisome, where it is reversibly mono-Ub'ed at Cys11 for return to the #cytosol; longer #ubiquitin chains attached to Cys11 are rapidly removed by the enzyme E2D3, ensuring correct function #PLOSBiology https://plos.io/4a9gWf4
