Perennial move day three. Catchfly moved. Two varieties of alliums that were delivered this week planted in the bare-ish corners, top left and bottom right; I'm already dreaming of seeing the large Gladiator ones next summer. Goldenrod, asters, yarrow and anise hyssop planted in the ex perennial bed.

On perennial garden move day one, despite light rain, I managed to move the peonies, chrysanthemum, and balloon flower, and actually find and move all but four of the Asiatic lilies. I'll have to watch for those orphans to sprout in the spring and nab them then. If you notice the lilies in unusual poses it's because, I discovered when I dug them, some sprouted from their sides, and one made a full underground loop before coming up.

Raised bed perennial garden project preparation: the bed was sadly neglected and had to be dug over to remove about a bushel of unwanted roots. That took me about three days of hand digging with an aggressive spade called "the Shark".

It's garden planning time in our neck of the woods and I'm working on a planting list for the small rock garden I built last summer. Any suggestions or discussion of suitable plants would be welcome.
So far I have 2 small sedums to move in from a temporary location and an abundance of wild strawberry and creeping thyme all over the place.
The garden is south facing on a slope in full sun, North American climate Zone 4a, min winter temp -30C to -35C. There's a paved path on the south and west sides and a wall of the house on the east. This makes it fairly warm, and thus dry, in spite of the 80 to 100 cm of precipitation (much of that snow) it gets every year.
