I wrote a letter to a #penfriend yesterday, and bought new stamps today!

On to a new year of letterwriting! #happymail

After a vinyl-buying hiatus for no real reason, we're back. All bought around my birthday (Powerslave was a gift). No idea what to play first. #ironmaiden #taylorswift #penfriend #down #bloodincantation #smashingpumpkins #vinyl

Met my #penfriend and her Canadian husband yesterday. Much fun. Also loved to talk in English again. 😃

In which I ramble on the subject of the music industry and independent music promotion…

By way of a BBC article and the biggest music industry earners last year. I’m pretty sure I don’t need to hashtag Taylor Swift, though I do discuss her.

The Roman Walls of Lugo, in Galicia, northwestern Spain, were declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 2000. They are about 2Km long stretching around the old town. They were built between 263 and 276 A.D. to defend the Roman town of Lucus Augusti (present-day Lugo) against invaders. This fortified wall is still largely intact and well preserved despite its 20 centuries of age. #letters #postcards #stamps #letterwriting #snailmail #penfriend #penpal #writing #postcrossing

This is hilarious and rather heartwarmingly wonderful - Laura Kidd (aka Penfriend fka She Makes War) and Rat (of Ned's Atomic Dustbin) videoed their reactions to receiving news of their Obey Robots collaboration's end of week chart positions.

CW: quite a lot of shocked swearing

@Bishopjoey I didn't discover #LauraKidd / #Penfriend / #SheMakesWar until the release of Exotic Monsters in 2021, so anything earlier than that passed me by.

As for YMCA - as a naive teenager I didn't register the message until In the Navy came out, when it became blindingly obvious.

#NowPlaying #ObeyRobots One in a Thousand, the new album from #Penfriend and Rat (#NedsAtomicDustbin) just dropped. And it is *tasty*. Pretty much everything #Penfriend (aka #LauraKidd) does is worth the price of admission, but this is a treat.

Give your ears a treat! The new album by Obey Robots - One in a Thousand - is out today and is close to perfect.

I'll never not want to share with the world the amazing talent of @penfriendrocks ...
But I'm biased. So here's what
Miles Hunt (The Wonder Stuff) thinks of her new project, Obey Robots, with Rat (Ned's Atomic Dustbin). https://louderthanwar.com/obey-robots-one-in-a-thousand-an-album-musing-by-miles-hunt/
...
In fairness, he's probably biased too but 2 people can't both be wrong can they?
