The past couple of months have been pretty crazy, and not in a good way, so I've fallen behind in posting things. I took photos along the way, just didn't post.
One of the things that I picked up is the latest mad science project from Julio's Liquors and Copper & Cask - Autocratic. This is a 7 year old Straight Rye finished in a coffee-seasoned barrel.
The third bottle from Penelope Bourbon Project X also came in. This one is finished in a PX Sherry cask.
Note how all three bottles differ a bit, just to trigger your OCD.

Recent pickups from Julio's Liquors, all of them Loch & Key Whisk(e)y Society picks.
Two of the three Penelope Bourbon 'Project X' bottles - 'OX' finished in Oloroso Sherry casks and 'Cognax' finished in cognac casks. The third, 'PXX' is finished in PX Sherry casks, but it hasn't arrived yet. I like how the bottles are just slightly different in size, perfect to trigger your OCD. 😅
On the left is a Knob Creek Cask Strength Single Barrel Bourbon 'Proven'. Coming in over nine years old at 119.3 proof.
And on the right is Hirsch Whiskey The Lost Horizon Straight Bourbon, the 'O.B.R.' (Older Bolder Rarer) microbatch. 8 years, 5 months at 119.2 proof, Hirsch had offered 14 barrels that had aged out for the standard Horizon. Instead of a single barrel, Julio's created a microbatch from that selection and this will be the only microbatch for the entire US. (All others will be single barrel releases.)
