Ratatöiden takia korvattujen junien lisäksi ilmeisesti yksi #IC-kalusto on jäänyt varikolle, koska vuoro on korvattu #Pendolino'lla ja kahdella #bussi'lla. Tulee varmaan melkoinen ottelu sitä, kuka matkustajista pääsee junaan, kuka löytää sieltä parhaan istumapaikan ja kuka päätyy bussiin. #VR #joukkoliikenne

Meanwhile #PKPIC is lending ED250s (its Pendolino sets) to České Dráhy for the kind of tests I associate more with urban transit, but are apparently a standard part of the Czech approval process. Starting March 9 (Monday after timetable change in Poland), a Polish Pendolino will run a pair of SuperCity trains between Bohumín and Prague - the early morning SC 516 to Prague, returning as the afternoon SC 511. It will be staffed by Czech drivers and conductors, but bistro car service will be Polish. The units involved will still run and be maintained in Poland - each night, a unit ending its day in Bielsko-Biała will travel empty to Bohumín and the other way around. Tampereen ja Helsingin välillä tulee usein valittua 1½ tunnin sijasta 2 tuntia kestävä matka, koska siinä ehtii paremmin työskennellä. Tai pelata. (Tai sekä että.)
Nyt piti mennä aikataulusyistä sillä nopeammalla, ja 5 hengen #Menolippu-peli piti keskeyttää Helsinki-päivän ajaksi.
Kuvasimme pelilaudan ja pöytäkortit, pakkasimme käsikorttimme samaan pussiin jäljellä olevien pelinappuloittemme kanssa, ja sulloimme kaiken pelilaatikkoon.
Paluumatkalla viritimme pelin sitten samaan tilanteeseen, mutta nyt #Pendolino-junan pöydälle.
Tämä oli muistaakseni myös ensimmäinen kerta, kun pelasimme junassa 5 hengellä. Viides pelaaja istui käytävän toisella puolella tai seisoi käytävällä. Matkalaukku olisi ollut hyvä istuin, mutta sen ohi olisi ollut vaikeampi kulkea. Nyt oli onneksi sopivan väljät junat molempiin suuntiin.

At #Paola, an #E656 electric with her #FondazioneFS #TrenoStorico is parked on an adjacent track. -

A backlight photo taken in August 1985 while travelling from #Rome 🇮🇹 to #Firenze and #Bologna: this is the #FS ETR.401, built in the 1970s and, it seems, the world’s first #Pendolino tilting train in revenue earning service, mainly on the Rome to Ancona line, if I remember well.

The technology has since been widely used to increase running speed, and to reduce centrifugal force, when travelling through curves. -

Tai ainakin tuntuu siltä ainakin kun on väsynyt ja haluaisi pian perille. #Pendolino kulki tällä kertaa lähes ajoissa, vain pari–kolme minuuttia myöhässä. #Mjuna #Nokia'lle lähti tasan aikataulussa. #VR:llä on jopa parempi päivä kuin minulla on ollut (aamulla kaatuivat ensimmäiset #kahvi-jauhot lattialle, #perkele näillä hinnoilla). #kotijuttuja #miehenelämää #joukkoliikenne #venaarauhassa
