Episode 98 is just aboot right, eh? We have a stunt Liz in the form of @klepsydra and a stunt lizard adorning @bohemiancoast’s cover art. We discuss the fan funds, we discuss NASFiC, and we have an excerpt from Sandra’s TAFF report which is most excellent. To cap it all off, @johncoxon squees about A City on Mars by Kelly and @ZachWeinersmith. Listen here! https://octothorpe.podbean.com/e/98-finally-manitoba/

@daviddlevine
One of the other floors goes full children's hospital color theory, with that same color pattern but in red. Downright bloody. #PemmiCon #NASFiC -
My reading at #PemmiCon #NASFIC went well! I had 7-8 folks (a pretty good turnout given the small size of the convention and the lateness in the con) and got the following toot from @klepsydra:

Last day at #PemmiCon / #NASFIC . I have a panel at 11:30 in Charleswood B on Writing Support. I assume I am on there to talk about critique groups, as I've been in many. Co-panelists: Mark Painter, Michael Haynes, Christine Taylor-Butler, and Nisi Shawl. Then I have a 1 PM Kaffeklatsche in the Fort Garry room (hotel 3rd floor). It's simultaneous with three others in the same space, including Robert Sawyer's. If anyone is still around this late in the con, please come by and hang out.

My panel today at #NASFIC / #PemmiCon is at 4 in York 4: The Next Pandemic, with Perrianne Lurie, Eli K.P. William, Snail Scott, and I. #AmWritingSciFi #AmWritingScienceFiction #WritersOfMastodon #AuthorsOfMastodon #Bookstodon #WritingCommunity #WritersLife #WritingLife #Fiction #Writers #AmWriting #AmWritingFiction #Writing

Did my best and connected to the zoom link for my 8:30 panel tonight, but all I got was the "Waiting for the host to let you in" screen. Stuck it out for half an hour trying to find out what was going on, but eventually gave up.
Hope tomorrow goes better.

#pemmicon @pemmi-con #nasfic If you're wondering where I am, I'm at home in Toronto, really sick with what the doctors are saying is not covid. I messaged the con that I would not be physically attending on Tuesday but got no reply. I've at least got my voice back now so I plan to attend my panels by Zoom if it's technically feasible. My first tonight is the Science Discovery Thunderdome. Hope to (virtually) see you there!

According to Philip John Currie Professor of Palaeobiology, T. rex arms were short (and also their head bones were hollow) to aid balance and speed, allowing a smaller tail to counterbalance for a bipedal stance. Also the arms were small only by comparison — they could press over 700 lbs! #NASFiC #PemmiCon

@pemmicon, when Zoom details become available to us Pemmi-Con members, where will they be? Will they be visible in Grenadine? Will there be a news item at Recent News at https://main.pemmi-con.ca/?
[Late edit: Pemmi-Con has now amended this situation by causing Grenadine to e-mail out Zoom links to, I assume, attending and virtual members. Hurrah!]
It would also be helpful if the latter section of the con's main Web page were (now) amended to say "For breaking news, check our social media" with links to the Mastodon account (and those billionaire also-ran alternatives).
I am grateful for finding your toot yesterday about Zoom problems, but was surprised there was (and still is) nothing at the con's flagship news location.
