Ethically and morally, it is wrong that kids have to suffer with illness, disability, and even death as a direct result of their parents’ ignorance to scientific information.

But, then, there probably is no use in outright blaming parents, and esp not as a whole. When I actually examine who I’m angry at, it’s those who know better and still choose to act with no regard for others.

Pretty striking—a #Brooklyn playground I frequent, in #CrownHeights specifically, is close to empty today. 3 kids running around, whereas just a week and a half ago, there were easily 18 on any given weekday.

Most people walking through the park are coughing, and maskless, of course.

The past week, #NYC #MTA buses have been consistently packed with maskless people, including many small children with wet coughs. Truly an unfortunate time to have no other options besides public transit 😖

our peds emergency department is doubling as an extension of the pediatric inpatient floor

we just octupled (8x) our acute care spots without increasing staff

All volunteers

we will do whatever we have to do to take care of kids, but if everyone would wear a mask and get vaccinated and maybe give up unnecessary, gatherings and vacations we might not break the system
