#Transport for #London is introducing regulations for pedicabs in the capital for the first time, to be phased in over the next year. Under the #Pedicabs (London) Act 2024, drivers and operators must be licensed and vehicles meet safety standards, including regular checks, licence identifiers and a ban on external audio. Drivers will need enhanced DBS checks, appropriate driving credentials, medical clearance and to meet English language requirements. #TfL also plans to cap fares from October, with a proposed £5 base rate, £1 per minute and up to £3 per extra passenger. Licences are expected to become mandatory for drivers and operators from 30 October 2026, and for vehicles from February 2027, following a transition period.

So, hubby and I parked a mile or so away from the venue and walked. I was pleased to see a lot of folks walking (plus event parking was $60!), as well as on bicycle! Lots of Pedicabs -- some were blasting appropriate music, some were giving tours. And there were lots of #GarbageToGarden containers for food composting! Lots to like about how Thompson Point shows are run! And you know, charging $60 for parking encouraged more people to take buses, pedicabs, bike or walk to the venue!

I didn't get to do my Sunday morning 🚲 ride. So I thought I'd do it Monday evening, since it's a holiday and I don't have to work today.
I t rode the streets near the malls. Bad idea. Not doing that again. 😐
#Pedicabs doing counterflow in the dark, with no lights at all. They took up the rightmost side of the road, which meant no space for me. I had to ride in the middle of the car lane. 😖
