Google wypuściło pozornie drobną aktualizację swojej aplikacji Find Hub (pol. Znajdź urządzenie) do wersji 3.1.458.
Sama w sobie nie jest ekscytująca – dodaje głównie nową opcję w Ustawieniach pozwalającą wybrać „jednostki odległości” (metryczne, amerykańskie, brytyjskie). Jednak przy okazji tej premiery, serwis 9to5Google zauważył znacznie ważniejszą, strategiczną zmianę.
Google po cichu, ale gruntownie zaktualizowało oficjalną stronę android.com poświęconą swojej sieci lokalizacyjnej. Po raz pierwszy opublikowano tam pełną, kompleksową listę wszystkich kompatybilnych urządzeń firm trzecich.
Ekosystem wreszcie stał się faktem
Do tej pory sieć „Find Hub” była bardziej obietnicą niż realnym ekosystemem. Teraz lista partnerów wreszcie jest imponująca. Jak wylicza 9to5Google, Google oficjalnie wspiera produkty ponad 60 firm.
Na liście (w kategoriach Trackery, Słuchawki i Głośniki oraz Śledzenie Wbudowane) znajdują się znani producenci lokalizatorów, tacy jak:
- Chipolo
- Pebblebee
- Motorola
- MiLi
- Rolling Square
Do tego dochodzą dziesiątki modeli słuchawek i głośników.
Publikacja tej listy oznacza, że globalna sieć „Znajdź urządzenie” dla Androida nareszcie stała się realnym, działającym ekosystemem i pełnoprawną konkurencją dla Lokalizatora Apple.

Jak to działa?
Jeśli masz AirTag w swojej walizce, możesz wygenerować link do lokalizacji i przekazać go obsłudze lotniska. Strona z lokalizacją automatycznie się aktualizuje i pozwala szybciej odnaleźć zaginiony bagaż.
Funkcja działa też z innymi lokalizatorami zgodnymi z siecią Find My, np. Chipolo i Pebblebee.
Udostępnianie lokalizacji kończy się automatycznie po odzyskaniu przedmiotu lub po 7 dniach.

a friend gave me a #pebblebee tracker to try out with #Google's Find My Device network
the network seems like it requires many #Android devices to connect to the tag at the same time to work, which is rare, and the network itself is just janky and frequently says it just can't see any tag location at all, despite showing one minutes prior
just an absolute failure of a product. it's not even that it doesn't work as well as the Samsung or Apple alternatives, it doesn't work at all

Maybe over a year ago I pre-ordered some new #bluetooth item finders that were supposed to work with the #Google #FindMyNetwork.
I forgot about them, I heard that Google and #Apple finally released their (compatible?) #locationTracker networks, then I got a notice that my #Pebblebee Clip was on the way.
I got them today. They say they are for #Android which is a good start!
