We took our Christmas tree down today and the house looks a bit sad without it, but I've got past being sad that my guests have gone and I'm enjoying the peace and quiet.
Everyone has left now and it's weirdly quiet in the house with just the two of us. It's always sad for a while when people leave before you start to enjoy the peace again.
As mentioned yesterday, the view from the top of Macricosta's Preserve in New Preston, CT as the sun sets in the West, with Lake Waramaug visible below.
I've been up here alone when its absolutely quiet and peaceful with the rare chance of perhaps a turkey vulture or red-tailed hawk circling overhead.
Not the highest peak, but high enough to realize how small we are.
