Weather models leaning on the cool side beginning this weekend and lasting to the beginning of September for #Portland and the Pacific Northwest. Early signs of fall, which is the best season of course.

Today on the webzone I now have weather alert maps for the Pacific Northwest, Columbia Basin, and Portland area updating every ten minutes.
These maps pull directly from the National Weather Service and package it in a way that I find to be more visually appealing than the NWS website.

As always please let me know what you think!
It may be a while before I get the next set of images up. I am traveling for work for the next week or so but I have some more stuff coming including real-time lightning maps and other things.

Old Johnny Carson joke:
L.A. is lovely this the time of year with everything turning gold and orange... But I just don't think air should be that color. -
AQI at 151 this morning; you can definitely feel the air when you breath. Hoping the winds come soon to move this away. #pdxtst

Very excited to share that the first of my automated weather graphics are now live on ingallswx.com. This is a soft launch, I'll be adding many more later this week.
Today's offerings are 7-day forecast graphics for select Pacific Northwest cities. These update four times a day and use a mix of sources similar to how I would put together my own forecasts. Unlike here where I toot in metric, these are available in imperial units.

Hermiston, OR: https://ingallswx.com/graphics/7-day-forecasts/hermiston-7-day-forecast/
This project is made possible by generous donors to Ingalls Weather. Thank you!

The #NOAA app said there was a 24% chance of 0.002 inches of rain. Luckily the roofers looked at some other weather report that accurately predicted a thunderstorm.
-
@StefanEJones Rumbles of thunder here in N/NE Portland. Looked at radar--time to log off for a while.
-
Oh thank god. After ~20 minutes of distant low thunder, the rain just started heavy in Scappoose. Big drops. Temperature down 10-15° from an hour ago.

Well that* was certainly a way to get rousted out of bed an hour and a half before the alarm. #pdxtst
(* - enormous peals of thunder)

Glad the weather is finally warming back up in Portland. Crazy to have been so cold over recent days while so much of the world has an endless heatwave.

Now to find out if there's enough time between the heatwave just ending and the next scheduled heatwave to get some actual decent sleep and feel properly human again.
(By "now" I mean "come bedtime", obviously not NOW now, I have work to do.)
