    PDF Arranger 1.14.0 is out, as always some minor fixes some new features 🥳

    There was a bug in pikepdf 10.6.0 till 10.7.1 (fixed in 10.7.2) which could crash PDF Arranger, so if you are installing that by yourself or maintaining a package it would be best to skip those versions or to update to 10.7.2 now.

    Nifty little OPensource Tool #PDFArranger

    Lets you combine multiple PDFS into one, or cut some pages. Very easy GUI.

    Debian has it in its standard repositories

    12.3.1 has been released with a fix, should be working fine with any qpdf except 12.3.0 (as long as it isn't too old 😉 )

    12.3.0 was released a week ago and it looks like there is an incompatibility or bug which renders PDF Arranger useless (you can't save your results).

    Workaround: Downgrade (or don't upgrade) your qpdf. The flatpak should also work fine if that is an option for you.

    qpdf is a great library and well maintained by the way, I'm sure we'll have this resolved very soon.

    In my experience Libreoffice Draw breaks a lot of PDFs. It allows editing them tho.

    Instead what I use
    - #PDFArranger to combine, cut and change order
    - #Firefox to add text and images ("signatures")
    - #GIMP to really blacken pages (export as JPG and use in PDFArranger)
    - #Okular to fill out forms, read and mark

    Not great to have so many in parallel but this works.

    Entweder ist der #PdfArranger unter #Linux Mist oder ich bin zu doof ihn zu bedienen.
    Ich habe im #Browser 3 Grafiken.
    Ich kopiere die und füge die per Paste ein. Ergebnis auf dem Bildschirm: drei Seiten, heißen aber jedesmal Seite 1. Drucke ich das, bekomme ich 3x die erste Grafik gedruckt.
    Füge ich eine neue Seite ein, dann ist die leer. Aber eine eingefügte Grafik wird dann nicht auf der Seite, sondern nur dahinter eingefügt. 😖
    Irgendwelche Ideen, wie ich das gelöst bekomme?

    Just finished updating my class workbook for the next term of #AdultESL.

    75 pages, including guided notes, worksheets, practice tests, assignment info, and misc extras.

    Easy to do in #Linux, with #Inkscape, #LibreOffice, #TexLaTeX, and lastly #PDFArranger to put everything together.

    (I didn't just make all 75 pages - tweaked and put together docs I've made over the years that I've been teaching this class.)
