In white the traces are super subtle, and the black hummingbird silkscreen art stands out (but would be better thicker).
In yellow (which is more orange/cream), the traces are very prominent and the white silkscreen is too subtle. I should have picked black for the art.

I've been having fun with the artistic possibilities of #PCB design within #KiCad - I have seen some stunning bits of art in this medium (#PCBArt)!
This #MechanicalKeyboard PCB art effort is much simpler, some line art imported as a silkscreen graphic, and then some simple texturing with the ground fill hatching.
(Why a tent? This is a small tented #ErgoMechKeyboard, meaning the PCB and keys are tilted relative to the table. The keyboard has 34 keys and the name Bivouac34 refers to a small wild camp)

I've always found circuit boards aesthetically inspiring, and in recent years this fascination has turned into a number of PCB-styled demos. I think a key inspiration for these has been the "Absolut Intelligence" vodka advert a couple of decades ago.
I haven't done these in a while, but a week or two ago I ran into spanning trees. I noticed that spanning trees of square lattices can make rather nice impersonations of printed circuits, especially when the solder points are only put on leaf points. Cut the tree up into a forest, and it's making even more electrical sense.
Halftoning isn't new to me either, but my existing line-based techniques didn't look nice on the square PCB lattice. It had to be more blocky with exactly horizontal or vertical lines. So for this iteration, I've set each half-edge to have a constant width — a natural evolution of my earlier variants, which were built from half-edge sections. Of course, the solder points follow a similar areal scaling.

OSHpark lost the shipping race to my sisters place, but I also ordered some with my updated TARS boards from jlcpcb to my place. I feel horrible for ordering purple ENIG at JLC, but it is what it is.
I definitely need to work on the animation and I should touch up some of the copper fills, but this looks great!

Working on a capacitive touch front plate for a synth project. This top plate is a cheap PCB only board (No components). It connects to a more expensive bottom plate with a #XIAO ESPC6, amp, and headphone jack
I never done capacitive touch before so I am trying several different patterns and designs. Always open to suggestions
