Another one finished! I could use some help with a name for it. It's an eyeball. The outside is dark American Walnut, representing the natural world. The inside is a circuit board, representing technology. I don't think it is too far fetched that people will have cybernetic eyeballs in the coming decades. The idea of a cybernetic eyeball is what inspired this piece. Most of the components on the pcb are for looks, but there's a string of ws2812 leds that I designed to look like Ethernet link lights.

I’m really excited to share a piece of art that’s been two years in the making. I call it Algorithmic Precipitation.
The piece is built from a custom printed circuit board. In the top copper layer is a city intersection, with a woman crossing the street. An everyday moment from a future that hasn’t quite arrived yet.
Across the scene, a downpour of small green raindrops falls from the sky, rendered using a grid of WS2812-2020 LEDs controlled by an ATmega328PB microcontroller. Two white LEDs occaisionally flash like lightning. A single amber LED mimics a failing streetlight.
The work is an exploration of what a post-singularity world might look like, where the boundary between the natural world and technology has blurred, and both are part of the same evolving system.

So we put them on the wall instead — breadboards, opened devices, circuit boards on display for everyone to see and take if useful.

In white the traces are super subtle, and the black hummingbird silkscreen art stands out (but would be better thicker).
In yellow (which is more orange/cream), the traces are very prominent and the white silkscreen is too subtle. I should have picked black for the art.

I've been having fun with the artistic possibilities of #PCB design within #KiCad - I have seen some stunning bits of art in this medium (#PCBArt)!
This #MechanicalKeyboard PCB art effort is much simpler, some line art imported as a silkscreen graphic, and then some simple texturing with the ground fill hatching.
(Why a tent? This is a small tented #ErgoMechKeyboard, meaning the PCB and keys are tilted relative to the table. The keyboard has 34 keys and the name Bivouac34 refers to a small wild camp)

OSHpark lost the shipping race to my sisters place, but I also ordered some with my updated TARS boards from jlcpcb to my place. I feel horrible for ordering purple ENIG at JLC, but it is what it is.
I definitely need to work on the animation and I should touch up some of the copper fills, but this looks great!

The absolute madlads at PCBWay went full send and gave me the razor thin claws I wanted on this Wolverine SAO 🥰
I put off ordering this design for half a year as I was almost certain they would refuse to manufacture it and I would have to redesign. Turns out: I didn’t!

Working on a capacitive touch front plate for a synth project. This top plate is a cheap PCB only board (No components). It connects to a more expensive bottom plate with a #XIAO ESPC6, amp, and headphone jack
