@enno Gibt es eigentlich einen Eressea-Kanal auf Mastodon/im Fediverse? Ich kenne den Kanal auf X und Discord. Beides möchte ich nicht nutzen. Die ML eressea-announce wäre auch eine Möglichkeit, dort scheinst Du ja auch Neuauswertungen anzukündigen.

Bei #ProjektMyra geht es darum, "mit beliebig vielen Menschen über beliebig viele Jahre gemeinsam eine Welt der Fantasy zu erschaffen" - #CreativeCommons als Hintergrund für Romane und Kurzgeschichten, als Rahmen für #pnpde und die Geschichte im grossen wird über ein #PlayByMail #PBeM (früher #Briefspiel genannt) simuliert - seit über 40 Jahren: http://myra.wikia.com

Es gibt wieder einen runden Geburtstag im #PbeM #Fantasya: Unsere Spielwelt #Lemuria feiert die 150. Runde bzw. Woche, existiert also schon fast drei Jahre! Leute, wie die Zeit vergeht...
Und die Entwicklung bleibt nicht stehen. Nicht mehr lange, dann kommen NPC und Quests ins Spiel!

@pludikovsky @pnpde @pnpat #PbeM ist ja ein ziemlich dehnbarer Begriff. Ich vermute, dass Du „richtige“ Spielrunden mit Fokus auf das Rollenspiel meinst, da muss ich passen. „Play-by-E-Mail“ kann aber auch Aufbauspiel mit Rollenspielanteilen sein, das wäre eher was für das Solospiel. Dann könnte #Fantasya was für Dich sein.

Später konnte man dann seine Züge per E-Mail verschicken und auch die Auswertung elektronisch erhalten - der Anfang von Play-By-E-Mail! Auch Allianzen gab es, ich zum Beispiel war im „Zirkel der Macht“, und man schrieb sich untereinander Briefe.
Im April 2000 habe ich dann mit Quest aufgehört, ich weiß gar nicht mehr warum.

Ich bin 1995 in dieses rundenbasierte Spiel eingestiegen. Ein Spielzug kostete fünf Deutsche Mark, plus 2 DM Porto für den Versand der Auswertung! Bezahlt hat man mit Markscheinen, die man zusammen mit dem nächsten Spielzug an Peter Stevens geschickt hat. Das waren noch Zeiten...

Kennt noch jemand #Quest, das #PostSpiel von Peter Stevens PostSpiele? Die englische Ausgabe trägt das Copyright 1990 KJC Games, die deutsche Anleitung von Peter Stevens ist von 1993/94. PostSpiele wie Quest könnte man als Ur-Urahnen von Play-by-E-Mail wie #Atlantis, #GermanAtlantis, #Eressea und schließlich auch #Fantasya betrachten. #pbem #FantasyaWissen

Cleared out the barbarians, and my settler nears its destination by the river. Need to upgrade my slingers to archers and go find the source of these barbarians.

Meanwhile on the other side of the world Babylon is ten techs ahead of everyone else.

I spent way too much time this weekend making a spreadsheet of squadron counters for the Fifth Frontier War and assigning initial fleets. Still need to figure out what the Darrian and Aslan fleets look like.

Once I get all the info prepared I’ll probably start recruiting play by “email” admirals, but it’ll probably be a few weeks before I’m prepared.

Keep thinking about how I could run a Fifth Frontier War simulation, but I would ideally want to find 24 players to want to command fleets in a months long play-by-email campaign.

Each admiral would be in command of the ships in their fleet, and have only delayed information about other systems. It would be epic, but also probably insane.

Oh, and one player would be the young suns neutral Aslan fleet.

Anyone still playing #PBeM? (#PlayByEmail)

The last time I played PBeM, I think it was in 2004/2005. It was already an upgraded version, through #YahooGroups. My first PBeM was via #eGroups (before #YahooClubs acquired it and merged as YGroups).

If I remember correctly, before the Internet, it was played through postal mail. I did not experience it, though I have the same question: anyone still playing #PBM #PlayByMail?
