I’m guessing that since I’ve been up for 2 hours now and I’m on the third cup of strong coffee, perhaps breakfast is in order. At least, I may just weasel out of work and open the fridge to get my half sandwiches of peanut butter and banana, or the peanut butter with fresh rhubarb sauce. The guys asked for the boring peanut butter with grape jelly on white bread.

Meanwhile I chose thin-sliced but a whole grain bread loaded with grains, nuts and seeds. Oh my, I was eating as nutritional a food as any I readily have available. And so filling. We typically call date syrup “Silan” in Israel but the literal translation in Hebrew is רוטב תמרים “dates syrup.”
