Some more details and background on Pecco Bagnaia signing through 2026 with Ducati in MotoGP.

At the Qatar MotoGP test, Pecco Bagnaia becomes the first rider to lap in the 1'50s with a best lap of 1'50.952. I cannot adequately express how stupidly quick that is. 0.8 faster than Luca Marini's pole time from 2023. And that was ridiculously fast already.

New MotoGP content: Before the last race of 2023 at Valencia, I spoke to Cristian Gabarrini, crew chief to Pecco Bagnaia. Fascinating as always, he told be about Bagnaia's growth as a rider, the impact of sprint races, defending a title, and competing against good friends.

Part 2 of my review of the 2023 MotoGP season. The rise of Jorge Martin adds a great deal of lustre to Pecco Bagnaia's second MotoGP title. Martin made him a better rider, and that made for a fantastic championship.

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, this is spectacularly well made. Ducati's video of Pecco Bagnaia's weekend in Valencia.
Sums up just how passionate and obsessed these people are. Beautifully done.

Maverick Viñales has been given a 3-place grid penalty for not respecting the meatball flag in warm up. Puts Pecco Bagnaia on pole. Which is interesting.

"Pecco Bagnaia has sustained multiple contusions, but further medical checks have shown no fractures. The reigning World Champion will fly to Italy with the team tonight."
-
Update on Pecco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini:
It looks like Bagnaia got away without any injury, despite Brad Binder running over his leg after a highside. He is just badly bruised, but having a CT scan.
Bastianini broke a bone in his left ankle and one in his left hand.

On the way to the restaurant tonight, I had a peek in a van unloading Ducatis for the presentation tomorrow, and I spotted a Streetfighter V4 in some wild colours with 63 branding on it

Pecco Bagnaia looking relaxed. T-shirt is ironic, given that Phillip Morris stopped sponsoring Ducati a couple of years ago.
