We're trying something new with Patreon membership here at Solarpunk Presents. Since September, we've been piloting a "Pay-What-You-Want" model.

Starting at $1.75 CAD/month, people can choose to support us at whatever financial tier is most comfortable and affordable for them. The post's illustration, though it has only three tiers, explains a bit of how individuals may fall along the economic spectrum, and might be helpful for decision-making .We have also included a link to the original blog post from Worts & Cunning Apothecary on sliding-scale pricing.

The "full-bottle" folks' contributions help us to create multiple access points to our content for folks who may fall into the other two categories (or somewhere in between!) We are striving also to get to a financial place where we can afford to cover our costs (and pay us a living wage) as well as to make it so that all free members are also able to access all perks.

We strongly believe that access to solarpunk content should not be a financial burden to anyone, and that creating solarpunk futures starts with what we do in the present. We hope you will join us.

Ich schiebe zwei Steine aus dem Weg. Den ersten nennt man Streaming, Gaming, BigData — glänzend, riesig, hungrig. Dahinter liegen Watt, Wasser, Wärme. Ein Schlund, der frisst. „Entertainment“ als Kohlekraftwerk im Tarnmantel. Wir tun so, als sei das normal.

Der zweite Stein heißt Zins und Handel online. Nicht aus Nostalgie verschoben, sondern aus Erkenntnis: Der Preis ist ein Mythos. Zins ist ein Gedächtnis von Gier. Handel — längst algorithmisiert. Ich glaube nicht mehr daran, dass alles einen Preis haben muss. Pay what you want verrät mich, ertappt mich, entkleidet das Tabu. Wenn Wert nicht verordnet ist, wird Beziehung sichtbar. Und Beziehung brennt heller als Markt.

Ich gebe zu: Das macht mir Angst. Weil man an alten Göttern nicht zupft, ohne Donner zu hören. Weil jeder, der sagt „Isso, machste nix dran“, vergisst, dass Systeme mit genau diesem Satz gebaut wurden. Aber Angst ist ein Kompass. Sie zeigt, wo Freiheit beginnt.

Ich habe nicht die Lösung. Nur die Schwelle — und einen Fuß, der zögert, doch vorwärts will. Vielleicht fällt man, vielleicht fliegt man. Vielleicht entsteht ein dritter Raum, jenseits von Besitzlogik, wo Austausch nicht Handel ist, und Reichtum nicht Speicher, sondern Fluss.

Lasst uns die Mythen freundlich entfetten. Nicht zerstören — aber durchleuchten. Zinsfreie Gärten pflanzen, energiearme Netze weben, Beziehungen über Preise stellen. Wer weiß: Vielleicht ist das schon Revolution, nur leise, wie ein Server bei 3 Watt im Standby.

Currently really enjoying watching this #LetsPlay by #TheLibrarian of Voices of the Void, a game where you play the role of a low employee who has to trace, observe, and analyse extraterrestrial signals in a location that more and more appears to be a hotbed for #SCP events as well as visits by extraterrestrials.

I'm currently still on the first season, which is quite some versions behind on the latest version of #VotV, but it'll be interesting to see how the development of the game progresses before perhaps diving in with the latest version myself.

This collector of unwilling playthings, pets, and bait humans includes a 1d8 random mutation table, 2d12 table of possible humanoid thrall captives to rescue, along with a 3d6 table of collectibles that the beast carries as loot, or barter items when in the mood to trade for luxuries.
