  1. The Devil’s Possessed (1974) is a Paul Naschy movie based very loosely on the crimes of the infamous Gilles de Rais. Set in 15th century France it combines swashbuckling adventure with plenty of horror. Naschy is deliciously cruel and evil.

  2. Count Dracula’s Great Love (1973), Spanish vampire film starring and written by Paul Naschy. Contrary to the popular critical view this is an excellent, intelligent, emotionally nuanced, clever, provocative, trashy, sleazy take on Dracula.

  3. The Beast and the Magic Sword, a 1983 Spanish-Japanese co-production written/directed by Paul Naschy. Filmed partly in Spain, partly in Japan.

There's a witch and a curse and a werewolf who seeks to be cured of his lycanthropy. And a girl ninja!

    Excellent surprisingly nuanced movie.
