    New paper!

In Greek mythology, the Chimera was a monster composed of parts of three different animals. But then, why do chimera states in nonlinear dynamics consist of only two different states?

Discover how to create three-state chimeras, and Make Chimeras Monstrous Again Ⓡ!

  5. 27 h very well spent in #Cologne - gave a seminar talk at the #Biology department of #Uni #Köln, discussed #patternformation and data until brains were fried and got a wonderful city tour the next morning. Good people, good food, good spirit. Went home feeling so grateful, appreciated and inspired 😇🥰

Also leaving this here for the next time I don't feel so good about this whole science thing 🫠 feeling a sense of community within the work we do might really make the difference ✊️

Hashtagged title: Using #SingleCell #SyntheticBiology to Unravel the Mechanisms of Biological Timing and #PatternFormation

Looking at network motifs for biological clocks, working in #Xenopus, building a synthetic cell (cool!)

what makes a tunable biological oscillator?
    biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/20

can slow down clock (in model system) by knockdown of cyclin B

  7. Update: I’m having so much fun reviewing the abstracts for my session at #ECEM23. So many cool contributions! 🤩 We will talk about #feedback, #TippingPoints, #EcoEvo, #bistability, #coexistence, #PatternFormation etc. This is going to be a awesome!!! 😊

(But also: we received more submissions than slots available and it’s sooo hard to choose!)
